I have to confess: before the season I would rather have had Oden.

Not that we wouldn't have shipped without Pendergraph.

Oden is the latest victim of the curse.

The curse that doom the player when he once had a chance to join the Spurs and he declined.

id take Bynum healthy in one game rather then ayers healthy an entire season

If he could learn how to catch a basketball, and then put the basketball in the basket then yes i'd understand him ranking above these players. But he can't. Nazr Mohammad has shit hands to, always dropping incoming passes. Ayres over-rated at ESPN

I'm curious to see how many Spurs get overrated individually due to the team's accomplishments. As in, which players get a big jump from last year to this year. We might already be witnessing this phenomenon.

Why did they bother ranking Embiid?

All but the top 40 players have been named. Tim, Tony and Kawhi will be in that top group.

The rest of the Spurs, with their 2013 ranking in parentheses:

56. Ginobili (86)
87. Green (113)
96. Splitter (111)
97. Diaw (196)
151. Mills (342)
158. Belinelli (187)
256. Bonner (219)
274. Joseph (280)
313. Anderson
349. Daye (286)
368. Baynes (436)
378. Ayres (324)

I imagine these are based on projections. Why are players like Paul George and Rose in the top 40? :lol

Sure, if George was healthy, he would be in the top 10-15 but he's suppose to miss a good chunk of the year.

Paul George was one of the best 20 players in the league before his injury. He still gets the benefit of the doubt. Rose hasn't been good in years, so not sure about that one.

I just can't get over the fact that Ginobili is 56. He's one of the top 50 players of all time, and he just had the highest PER in the Finals. You can't name 55 players better than him.

With 30 teams and 150 starters, we have 7 players in the top 100! (Parker, Duncan and Leonard ranks are not posted yet)
Add in Mills (151) and Belinelli (158) we can almost trot out two starting units.

Ginobii is still great and is obviously much better than 56.
But he played only 23 mpg last season. When ranking players you can't ignore that.

Good point! Well if you consider starters and 6th men, that would be 180 players. So the Spurs have 9 players that can either be starters or 6th men in other NBA teams.

Not a good sign here that Joseph is behind Bonner.

Apparently Chris Bosh is a better player than Tim. That was obvious during last year finals at least.

Tony Parker made 168 field goals in last season's playoffs and moved into 10th on the all-time playoff list, past Hall of Famers Scottie Pippen, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, John Havlicek and Larry Bird.
Parker needs to play in four more playoff games to become the eighth player in NBA history to play in 200 postseason games
