We all know that Kawhi is such a good kid. When you wonder why he has a strong work ethic or how he's able to handle pressure, the hype, and remain focused and humble, maybe his family could be part of the answer...it seems like they raised him strictly and religiously but with a lot of love.

They said some funny and sweet things about Kawhi in SAEN interview today.

This ^^ reminded me of another old article about Leonard and his grandmother.

A deeply spiritual and religious woman, Kawhi’s grandmother began talking to him about the Bible and reminding him how important it was to keep religion in his life.
There, Leonard revealed to his mother and grandmother that he had a Bible Verse of the Day app on his phone. He told them his favorite verse came from his favorite book, the Book of Job.
It’s the story of a man who has everything—his health, his wealth, his family—taken away from him by God, yet never loses his faith. Eventually, Job is given his health back and starts a new family. His wealth doubles, too.
This is the book that Kawhi Leonard takes solace in. This is who Kawhi Leonard is.

After he was drafted in 2011, the then-19-year-old Leonard wanted his mother to live with him. She didn't move to Texas to baby her son, but came because Leonard still needed her input and direction as he entered a completely different world.
“My mom, she's been (this age) before,” Leonard said. “She's been through this life cycle. I definitely try to use her knowledge and her wisdom to help me in my day of life.”
...
Robertson says the youngest of her three children and only son has aspirations to one day start his own clothing line.
“I told him, 'Why don't you name it Mama's Boy,'” she said humorously. “He said, 'I'm not naming it that.' I said, 'Kawhi, a mama's boy just means you love your mom.'”

He needs us/ST to create a new brand name... :D

“We had a great offseason,” he said. “We called back Boris (Diaw), Patty (Mills). Tony (Parker); we have a point guard for the future; I'm happy about that just in case the Spurs do extend me and if I am a Spur for life. That's a great thing to know that Tony will be there.”
Told he used the word “if” when describing his own extension, Leonard said: “I mean, you never know. ... You know how the game is, it's business".
...
The Spurs never talk about contracts until they're signed. For now, Leonard will leave that part of his career to Elfus and concentrate on helping the Spurs win another title

Can anyone give me a proper link to that first Express news article? I can't view it as it says I need to be a digital subscriber and it seems you can only subscribe if you're in SA or the US, which I am not.

^ I was reading about subscription, I noticed that you can get free ExpressNews.com access, you just need a valid email address, not a local zip code or something like that.

If it doesn't work, read your 4 PM. (4 bc you can post 5000 characters or less per message and the article has 14.000)

Maybe the clothing line is a girlfriend's whim. You know, the NBA hoe game. They just plan on getting pregnant in order to get more money, but they also want a show on TV or a fashion collection.
His girl seems nice but you never know what is going to happen...
