I own a Sanyo 7400 and my carrier for 3 years has been Sprint. So far it has been the best cell I've had. The first cell I owned was a StarTac and that thing was like a roach. It never died! Then I bought an ugly-ugly phone, the Qualcom 8200 with Verizon. Then I bought a Samsung A600 swivel phone, sold that and got the Sanyo 7400. I like everything except the MobiTV is overhyped! It doesn't have the NBA channel, either. The video it takes is decent and the reception is fine but I wish it had a flash memory slot.I like that I can change the faceplates.I bought the ones sold by the Sprint store and I also have a black one I bought from a friend. The exterior is rugged and so far I've had it since it first came out in December 04 and it looks like new. When I'm on the go and unable to see a Spur game I have text messaging to be updated on the quarter by quarter scores and ofcourse the web. I am still looking forward for cell phone makers to get real TV and satellite quality video in these little things. I've had to be at several events where text doesn't cut it! I was about to buy the Samsung I600 but not worth the price for the lack of features.
Todays newer phones are getting uglier by the month.I do like that megapixels, sound, video are getting better.Service (Sprint)has not caught up though for us Sports fanatics.

I have a friend whose wife ran up the cell phone bill to $1300! I told him to get her one of these unlimited minute plans or get rid of the phone.I also told him to check the list and make sure there's no Sancho.
I have 1500 minutes under an employee plan which is too low to mention here in the forum. Thing is I don't work with that corporation anymore.I still kept the plan. shhhh!

The Samsung MM-A800 (SPH-A800) is a unique slider phone, allowing users to capture two-megapixel still images and VGA-quality videos, listen to digital music files, and text message at lightening speed with voice commands and dictation, all in one intelligently designed device. In addition, the MM-A800 has a TransFLASH memory card slot (32 MB card included), auto focus, 2.5x digital zoom, flash, color adjustments, fun frames and multishot.
This is what User & I both have, with upgraded 256MB cards. :fro

I've got a Motorola V710. It's a good phone. It's got (crippled) bluetooth, transflash slot, a megapixel camera (it's a very crappy camera though, even for a phone), and it's trimode. The RF is excellent.
I've also owned a Sanyo 4900 and an LG VX4400 (a great phone in its day)
I currently have service with Verizon. I sold both Verizon and Sprint and had Sprint as my carrier for a time. Sprint screwed me over in a huge way and I'm familiar with their customer service and network, so I advocate against Sprint whenever I have the opportunity.
I'm more of a CDMA guy than a GSM guy.

I had my first Star-Tac for six years. When it finally fell apart, I got on ebay and found a brand new one there, which I've now had for six months. I love this phone.
I'm thinking of switching to the Motorola Razr, but they don't have a model for Sprint. In fact, it seems like Motorola and Sprint don't do too much together anymore.
There's a Nokia coming out soon that I have high hopes for. It will probably cost 800.00 though. It is a candy bar style phone that then folds open to provide a qwerty keyboard and nice, wide screen. If they've figured out how to hold a couple hundred MP3's at the same time, I'm buying one.

I've had my motorola v730 forever...it's been decent to me cept for somehow I got water in the battery and had to hassle Verizon to replace it for free. But anyhow, I'm in the market for a new phone since my contract was completed they are offering me a free upgrade.
I've looked at the Motorola E815 and was pretty excited about it, until I went into the store to check it out. It felt too light to me and it was kinda bigger than what I expected. So I've x-nayed that one.
Can anyone on Verizon suggest a phone? I don't really have any specifications...just that it has speakerphone and an outside display, a camera would be cool but not required.

does it have a camera, speaker phone, memory slot? If does I'm dumping mine asap!
My ideal phone needs to have (aside from being a servicable communication device)
1) color screen
2)Camera 2 MP and Video Camera
3)must have memory slot
4)a USB connection
5)Blue Tooth connectivity
6)speaker phone
7)be able to play MP3
I wouldn't mind spending between $600-800. I'll sell my video camera,Mp3 player, digital camera and current phone. The Treo is coming close.

If MobiTV would get FSN South and ESPN channels my phone would increase its value. Also AM stations to get Spurs radio,I would be very very happy.
I am about to hook up some home security cams that will be connected to my computer system that can be accessed though my cell phone. The video quality is not the greatest but it gives me peace of mind.

Actually several public places don't allow Cam-phones. I am a member of World Gym and they prohibit camera phones. It doesn't stop women from talking though on their phones while doing weights.(Using hands-free ofcourse)I can't do be talking and bench press 200lbs at the same time. Do you know the launch date?Is Sprint one of the service carriers thinking of using this handset?Usually its Cingular(Razr) that carries Moto and so does T-mobile. Sprint likes Sanyo,Samsung and LG.
I must see this phone personally.
minusplus release date is sometime in the first quarter of 2006.. I don't know what carriers will be carrying it, I hope sprint is able to carry it, since thats my carrier. And I can get almost half off on the phone with my company discount.
I am thinking the recent merger between nextel and sprint will allow sprint to carry more motorola phones. They just use a different networks IDEN is used by nextel which major supplier is motorola and CDMA is used by sprint. I think they are working on some cross over network.. I am not to sure I am not in that division of the company but that is what is grabbing the headlines now...

I read its camera is 1.3 mp. I wish it was already 2mp. I only got 10% off the handset but I pay $15 per month for 1500 minutes. So I don't care if I spend $1000 for a phone just as long as it comes closer to a digital camera, cam corder, and computer,Mp3 player, voice recorder, alarm, schedule,a t.v.; the whole package.
I pay approx: $180(no contract)per year in service compared to the regular joe that pans out=$720 a year (with contract x 2yrs).

Especially as small as they are now, you can put them in your pocket w/o detection. Ridiculous to think that they can ban them. I think women mostly need to be aware of their surroundings and more cautious.

Both my husband and I are finally upgrading and are getting this. I'm sure I'll never use half of the features, but I'm upgrading from a POS Qualcom phone that had 15 minutes free :lol
Motorola RAZR V3 - Silver for me --Black for him

I'm so jealous Shelly! haha At the time I ordered my current phone through Cingular the RazR was about $500! Now it's $99 or so. LAME! lol I guess I'll have to wait until I can upgrade my phone again and get that (or whatever is appealing to me at the time)

yeah, looking around, I see that. But that's my husband's laziness and it's a write for us anyway.
ETA--we got them for $199, not $299
