He's a bit overrated right now tbh. I'd take him over any QB but Rodgers because of his potential, but if I needed a QB to win me a big game there are several I'd pick before him.

Overrated? He's earned it after 4 weeks and playing behind that horrible OL. He's on pace for 5K yards and 52 tds. Yeah, he'll probably fall somewhere in the high 30s or mid 40's, but he is arguably the 2nd or 3rd best in the league behind Rivers and Rodgers. Rivers gets the nod because he's beaten the defending champs and played the 2nd best D (Arizona) pretty well. Having a great deal of game winning drives and winning that playoff game puts him in the discussion with Manning and Rodgers in that clutch category.

I'd rate Manning at a close 3rd/maybe in 3rd at this point. I'm not judging by career at the moment. He's been good but when you had a year like 2013, there is a standard you're held to. Yes, regression happens but right now Rivers has increased his completion percentage 5% points and has played a tougher schedule than Denver has. He also beat Seattle while Peyton was shutdown for about 3 1/4 quarters up in the CLink. I can't rate him the best after one 80 yrd drive as his signature move this early. He could be the best by the end of the reg. season or Luck could continue on this clip and ascend to the upper echelon.

We're four games into the season right now ffs. If we're just basing it on that then yeah, but overall I'd still take both Manning's, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Rivers over him.

I agree Rivers is right there, but I just think Manning should still be mentioned too. Luck hasn't even faced a single good defense yet.

Eli Manning and Brady, no. Again, we are talking about this short year. Right now Luck is playing great. We're not discussing career. Get that out of your head--Id take Rivers ahead of him and then him; the rest is merely subjective based on opinions at this point.

Of course there will be holes in the argument for who is QBing the best right now--its only a month into the new season. Luck has faced 2 good defenses this year. Well, one that was a good pass defense (Tennessee) and the other is vastly improved (Denver) so to say he hasn't faced a good defense is a farce.

Ginger jokes aside, Dalton has been a pretty good regular season QB during his tenure as Bengals' QB. It's not a shock he's doing well and he is in the top 10 of QBs after 4 weeks. But to already discredit Luck is betraying what premise you're using. Of course, I wouldn't expect a 49er fan to think logically. Though your disdain for Kaepernick is the right thing to feel. He's going to cost you again when it is big-time. We we'll agree to disagree at this point.

Taken this terrible Colt team to the playoffs 2 years in a row. Now he's doing well with an equally terrible supporting case w/o the exception of having a decent WR corps. Why are you NFL experts so low on him? Does he have to win it all before getting at least some recognition. I don't get it. Not that I'm a Luck homer, but getting NFL Sunday Ticket has allowed me to watch every game. I'm getting a better read on players now than other years. Many pundits are saying this is his ascension. I'm not discrediting Luck, I'm discrediting the idea of declaring someone the best anything in the NFL after four games. He very well may prove to be the best QB in the league this season, but it's far too soon to be making that claim, especially when his team is 2-2 and he actually had a large part to play in at least one of those losses (throwing a pick against the Eagles that directly lef to them losing the game). Also, :lol @ you calling me illogical when you and your own fanbase try to prop up your own gamemanaging QB as an elite QB; at least the sane Niner fans acknowledge Kraep will be our undoing.

It's safe to say that you can't compare Wilson and Kaepernick. Wilson has been consistent and he won't make the boneheaded mistakes that Kaepernick will. I think that with an improved OL and a running game that will focus someone other than Gore, he'll be better than he's shown. Wilson will never be the Peyton Manning or Tom Brady or Rodgers type but that's fine. As long as he keeps winning and bringing the rings and keeping the O side afloat, that's all you can ask. I don't think Kaepernick would've led the 49ers back after Manning ran that 80-yard tying touchdown in Seattle. Wilson showed right there he's better than just a game manager. He took that drive and had 4 completions and 4 rushes. Precision at its finest. That's a mark of a winner. So you can discredit him as you waste the season tied to Kaepernick. We'll be alright and we got one title already. Anything else is nice. House Money; we got it.

Can't win without the other. You don't have Wilson; you don't win that OT game against Peyton. Lynch got to eat his just desserts because of who got them there. You can also say that w/o Lynch the Seahawks don't win it all last year. They fit perfectly for each other. This isn't a Trent Dilfer or a Brad Johnson situation. Seriously? Did you do a Gallup Poll to find out your stat there buddy? 90% of fans are retarded who gives a fuck about opinion? Look at those who are actually involved in the game and they'll say he isn't a game manager. He's not elite but he's in the 2nd tier. Definitely not a game manager--which is a contradictory term anyway. ALL QBs are game managers. That's why it is the most important position in the game. Why do you think the percentage of QBs to have quality (up to HoF) careers is minimal? Because the majority of them do not learn how to control the game properly. Anyways, it is pointless to attempt to persuade you because you have your mind made up. I'll take the actual experts opinion over a fan of the rival team's. Especially when they can't create originality and throw out the Cheathawk moniker when they fail to remember the Eddie Debartolo days and how they mimiced the Denver Broncos in cheating to obtain picks and other favors of the league. Also, you have character issues with Aldon Smith and Ray McDonald. That's more laughable than getting busted for some herb and some adderall.

Sounds to me like you picked Wilson imo. Typical Cheathawks fan logic: calling other fanbases retarded while allowing the media to brainwash you into thinking Wilson is an up-and-coming QB. Guess what? They do it for Kraep, Cum, and RGKnee as well. They're gonna prop them up because it helps promote their agenda for a new NFL era of dual threat QBs.

The players who have played the game have said as much. Even Peyton Manning said he is on the rise. What do they know? Kraep was never this consistent if he learned the game better he'd be highly regarded with the physical talent he has. Cam was worthwhile and may still improve but he doesn't have the internal factor that compliments his talent. I wouldn't have any problem giving Kaep props if he were worlds better. I decide for myself whom is worthwhile for my team and it should never go on one's shoulders. He isn't elite as that is reserved for Manning, Rodgers, and whomever you like. But even Michael Irvin this past weekend said he's not a game manager and that dude is coked out most of the time so he's got to be right. You're offering nothing but speculation and opinion--I'm not saying he is the best QB but to deny that he is one of the better QBs is foolish.

His resume isn't legendary right now, but he has had some pretty fucking legendary moments. The 2012 Colts is probably my favorite version of the team and no one, even the most hard core Colts fans, said that team was going to the postseason. And some of his comeback wins are purely epic, mainly the Packers and KC playoff game last year but some others too like that Detroit game in 2012 and Houston last year. Plus he did all of that behind one of the worst offensive lines in football (not going to crunch the stats for 2013 but he was the most sacked/hit/pressured QB in 2012). We've all said that once he got decent protection from his line he would blow up the league, and that's kind of happening now.
Right now the only thing holding back Luck is his stupid ass coaches that still think Trent Richardson has starting talent and that they need to open the game by emphasizing their shit run game. Last two weeks they aired it out but they need to throw first against all opponents, not just the bad teams. Bad gameplanning has cost the Colts so much over the last 20 games.

lynch is more replaceable. running backs typically are. it's not like Wilson is another coming of Trent Dilfer.
you could argue the Broncos running game was more important to their superbowls in the 90's, but i'd argue TD was more easily replaceable than John Elway. those 2 years elway was averaging about 220 passing yards per game while TD ran for 1750 and 2000 yards. when you need big plays to win a game or move the chains, its usually the quarterback who does it. that's why they aren't as replaceable as backs who often are as productive as the offensive line allows them to be

Lynch is and Davis was Elite.
For example in 1998 Bubby Brister started and won 4 games for the injured Elway. In those 4 games Davis rushed for 467 yards, 5 rushing TDs (1 receiving) with a blistering 5.9 yards/carry. The 1998 Broncos probably win the Super Bowl without Elway
Lynch is the 2nd best Running Back in the NFL, possessing the combination of size & speed to be arguably unstoppable. The chance of not only the Seahawks signing/drafting another Lynch clone but there even being another Lynch in the NFL in the next 5 years is low.

Luck is a little overrated, tbh..
Very good QB, but being put in the "elite" category way too early IMO..he has all the tools to become a legendary QB, but this is the typical over-hyping of a young QB that shows flashes of greatness..everybody is always quick to anoint players..
His numbers aren't special and he's inconsistent against good defenses..I'd still put him in or near the top 5 due to his lack of support and ability to perform in big moments, though..
Rodgers is unquestionably the best QB in the NFL, and Rivers/Manning are still ahead of Luck..it's early, but it appears that Brees and Brady are no longer elite QBs, we'll see how that plays out..

I'll still give Brees the benefit of the doubt because he was terrific last year. He has looked shaky this year, but it's still early and could just be a rough start. Brady, while still great for moments or maybe a game at a time, hasn't been elite since 2012. He was good last year, but he wasn't in the Manning/Brees/Rodgers class. It could also be attributed to a lack of weapons

agree with this, especially about Luck. I might still put Manning above Rodgers just for old times sake, but no doubt Rodgers is in his prime and can make certain types of throws that Manning can't, though Manning's arm looks better than 2008-2011.

Wilson is elite right now. I'm amazed that even some Seahawks fans don't realize this yet. He's going to be known as one of the best ever.

not really. luck has been widening the gap this year

Luck would already be a SB champion if he played on the Bengals. Their roster is so ridiculously stacked in all facets that they're a big-dick QB away from shitting on the league for years

Luck is a great QB, but so is Wilson. They are both great leaders which I think is one of the most important aspects of that position.

Luck has made some absolutely terrible throws this year, but he's still playing like a top 5 QB.
Ill wait to pass judgement until the next 4 Games against the Ravens, Texans, Shittsburgh, and the Bengals.
Eesh. That's a pretty tough lineup. Indy could lose each of those games.

nah i wouldn't say he's the best just yet, but he is very talented and one of the best dual threat qb's in the league. he needs to chill out on the INT's, though.

He was actually very good on the INT's last year, but you also have to remember he gets faced with a lot of 3rd and longs thanks to Richardson/forced ground game as JT alluded to.

Right now the only thing holding back Luck is his stupid ass coaches that still think Trent Richardson has starting talent and that they need to open the game by emphasizing their shit run game. Last two weeks they aired it out but they need to throw first against all opponents, not just the bad teams. Bad gameplanning has cost the Colts so much over the last 20 games.
i think the GM and owner are at fault more than the coaches for the trent richardson debacle. they're just playing the hand that was dealt to them. not the coaches fault they have to give that scrub touches.

For the trade, yeah that's more on the GM but Pagano needs to chill out on the "we're a power running team" nonsense. The Colts don't have the personnel to play that way. Honestly the best thing for them would be to give Luck the Peyton Manning No-Huddle Playbook and start doing that.

Russell Wilson is the best of the young QB's. He has done things never seen before from any QB at this stage of a career.
Andew Luck is also a stud QB but has done nothing superior to RW.

Wilson/Manning/Dalton/etc. are lower than some because they have played less games. These ratings don't seem to be a good representation though.

He is at the bottom of this but if you extrapolate McCown, Bortles, and Henne's snaps to 222, their ratings would be worse than Carr.

also we have the worst run game in the NFL (in yards per game, and that's still bolstered by Carr's 41 yard run :lol) and one of the worst overall receiver/TE groups in the NFL, along with St. Louis and Cleveland. its a big ol' mess

and we all know Bortles/Henne have exquisite talent to work with. 3 rookie WR's, the unstoppable Toby Gerhart-Jordan Todman combo, Mike Thomas, and Marcedes Lewis (horrible since Garrard left). Nobody has it worse than the Baguars
