Yeah that hurts alot. Those heroics would have gone down in history as one of the greatest string of plays to win a championship ever.

:lol the touch with petrobras... one of the most corrupted company of the world
Parker is fifth all-time among all point guards in post-season assists, behind Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Nash. He leads all point guards in NBA history in playoff scoring and is 12th all-time overall. Maybe Parker isn't quite Michael Jordan, but he's one of the all-time greats and we're probably not going to realize how special he is until it's too late.
And yet SpursTalk never seems to give him his due credit.
I responded to this article (which I honestly believe is the best I ever read about Parker on a Spurs forum of any sort) on the ptr forum. I appreciate Erler's writing, I appreciate his willingness to acknowledge what Parker has meant to the Spurs' runs, and I appreciate Parker. On this forum, that means that I am accused of all sorts of unsavory things regarding Parker, but none of that changes what Parker has accomplished. Lefty or Bob Cool or Nono can cheap shot him all they want...doesn't change the facts.

Seriously, Parker has had his great moments as a Spur but obviously his bad ones will stand out more. That's what's frustrating about some Parker loyalists...they absolutely refuse to acknowledge the fact that he has shit the bed plenty of times. And by shit the bed I don't just mean playing subpar I mean absolutely disappearing in crucial moments.
He did his part in '13 though. I'll give him that.

I always think of Parker as a superb regular season performer, but he simply isn't the go to guy in the playoffs, and that is where he dazzles with his vanishing act. Pop knows this, thus the need for guys like Jacques Vaughn, Steve Kerr, T J Ford, and now Patty Mills. Ray Allen may suck, but in crunch time I would trust him to make the shot much more than Parker. Duncan is the leader, Parker is a pretender

For being so terrible he's had a lot of success. And his numbers are good. Only some Spurs fans doubt that he is a great player. He will be a HOF and he was a Finals MVP. If he always "shit the bed" the Spurs wouldn't have 4 rings with him.
Lebron is the best in the game and he has looked bad many times in the playoffs. Parker critics are somehow blind to all the good he does.

Also when comparing Parker head to head against other great PG's in the playoffs his stats are very comparable. The numbers just don't show this "vanishing act."

Manu's bad moments stand out more, and to make it worse his loyalists even blamed Kawhi for missing a free throw in 6

Parker has had his bad moments in the playoffs, 03, 04, 05, 11 and the series against OKC in 12. But the reason no one remembers his clutch moments is they haven't ended in a championship. He was clutch in 08 (the big shot in game 7 to put us up 3 is completely forgotten), in 10 (against Dallas, he hit big jumpers repeatedly), and definitely in 13. The best part is people say he could never be the best player on a championship team but he was 28 seconds away from doing just that while ripping a championship from Lebron which unfortunately a lack of rebounding and ft shooting promptly gave back.
