A small guard on Kawhi is a good matchup, he has a really good post game I don't know why Pop/Tony don't give him the ball in the post more often...
I know it's only a preseason game but we have seen this movie last season (Just for the record, Leonard didn't receive the ball and Tony missed his shot)

well, it had to happen ... I rarely watch sports events live in the arena ... the Berlin teams lose most of the time ... of course Alba wins when I cheer for the visiting team.
TP was great in this game, he and Kawhi will have to carry us through the regular season ... Manu sucked completely before going to the FT line and in the end it was a mistake by Timmy. perhaps not taking a time out would have worked better ....
I'd like like the team can take advantage of good matchups.

They had this match up in round 1, Ellis on Leonard, same thing happened, while a certain PG was ignoring him...but it's okay cause our PG was getting his while everyone else suffered.
The majority of SF's can't guard Leonard in the post, guards have no chance, he may as well be wide open. If I were Pop and I saw that I would've called a timeout and chewed Parker's ass out.

Tony was, is, and will be the first option.
Leonard scored +20 only when Tony was injured or tired. Fortunately, Tony is healthy now and Pop needs to find the way to involve Kawhi on the offense (and give him the ball in the post) even with Tony in his best scoring night of the season.

Also they will have to bring it every night because they are the defending NBA champs and teams are gonna take their best shot at you, so the intesity will have to be there a full 48 mins. I am glad that team won the game and NBA fans in Germany will remember it, it's one though the Spurs would definitely like to forget though but it's only the preseason. They need to be more focused on posessions, it wasn't all there in this game.

Honestly, Pop couldn't have planned it any better.
Meaningless game stat-wise. Not even an L in the record books.
But it's something that he can use to bring them back down to Earth and try to light some fire. Losing to a team that they have no business losing to, while playing the key players all the way through...it gives Pop plenty of ammunition to make sure the players aren't expecting anything to come easy.

I'm not using it for this game, but I used ballstreams all of last year and was always satisfied with the service. It's so much better than League Pass...especially when you consider the price. I made a topic/post about it on here a while back, but it was deleted for whatever reason.

It is pre-season!
Pop's biggest mistake is letting the scrubs play more!
Finally the Spurs will repeat.
They won the preseason Euro games in past championship years -- then failed to get second the ring.
But this year they got the job done (or not done) overseas and the jinx is lifted!

As they well they should. They play in a league, and a country, which has a reputation of not being on the same tier as the NBA, and they just beat the defending and five-time NBA champions. Sure, it was just a friendly, and the Spurs are out of shape and just putting things together in camp again, but let's give credit where its due...this is pretty much the exact same team that just won the Finals, just after a 3-month layoff.
Those players for Berlin are going to tell their grandkids one day about the time they beat Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker in a game of professional basketball. And they deserve it.

Why was their reaction hilarious? They deserved the win. They played hard all the way throughout the game and worked hard all the way through. Spurs were complete and utter shit.
If you were playing on a team and just beat them in any game, anywhere, at anytime after watching their performance in the NBA finals, would you not be excited? Pure fucking arrogance from some people around here.

The NBA is the best in the World. Playing in the NBA is any badketball player's dream.
The Spurs are the reigning champions. They had beaten 20+ teams. I just kind of expect them to play their best or win against a good but unknown team. They're supposed to rule against those guys. No more excuses... if they're playing international or NBA game because TP, Manu, Diaw, Beli even Duncan played FIBA before.
If it's true that they are just "half-assing it", it would disappoint me more, hope not.

Those players for Berlin are going to tell their grandkids one day about the time they beat Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker in a game of professional basketball. And they deserve it.
Lol, look at all you fags getting boners over this loss like it matters. This is like when the MLS all stars beat Bayern Munich in soccer. Nobody actually thinks America is better at soccer than Germany now lol. Bayern kinda half tried, a lot like the Spurs, and the MLS teams played like their life was on the line. This shit happens when you are 1) out of form, 2) avoiding injury at all costs, and 3) just dont care near as much as the other team..... oh yeah and 4) its the fucking preseason, fuck off trolls

You are borderline retarded

Get used to it - Patty is a huge loss for us. Until Patty is back, we're not as dangerous on offense.

You are borderline retarded
Why?
If I am retarded I won't support this team since the day they drafted Tim Duncan.
I am a believer. But I am a realist.
The only good reason they didnt give it all to win the game was they are afraid of any injuries and that's fine with me.

Precisely.
We basically threw that game. 21 turnovers and NFW Timmy throws it down into the corner in a one-point game that counts.
Good show for the Berlin fans. Had we played like we did against Miami in the Finals, we would've won by 50.

Did the original Dream Team lose a game?
He's referring to them getting beat by a college team that had Bobby Hurley, Chris Webber, Grant Hill and a bunch of other future-NBA guys in their first scrimmage together. I think, if memory serves, that Chuck called the game once the DT was down so that they'd have to sit and stew with the loss for a day. The next game the DT smashed them and never looked back.

I never said anyone thinks that Europe is now better than America at basketball because one team loses one exhibition game. We just got through with a World Cup competition where America sent in their B-squad and still eviscerated the rest of the competition, so I'm pretty sure that's been put to rest for a while.
What I said is that the Spurs, for the all glamor and glory they've received over the past few months, just lost to a team that should be vastly inferior to them, all things considered. That should not sit well with them.
On the flip-side, those Berlin players got to experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of beating the defending NBA champions. Even if it was just a friendly match and the Spurs were just half-assing it, that's still a memory that no one will ever be able to take away from them.
I sure as shit hope Pop didn't go into the locker room after the game and say, "Don't worry guys. You're just out of form and avoiding injury. I'm sure you'll figure it out once you start caring."
Pop threw the game Chuck Daly style. Showing his team that they can lose to anyone just like Daly did with the Dream Team. This'll be a great teaching point for Pop.
i thought about that after the game too.

You could tell Pop was thrilled with the way this game ended. It was a perfect reminder that you can be beaten any day, any time, if you aren't prepared and you don't execute.

maybe the loss doesn't mean much but thing to be concerned about(other than Pop's beard) is still Belli, can we survive another season with him in the rotation? we really need to make a last strong push for Ray Allen...
