seahawks roster is pretty stacked, but a lot of it is great drafting. they lost browner and walter thurmond and their secondary hasn't really missed a beat.
i think their linebackers and safeties are what really makes their defense special, even though its the corners that get the hype

I remember the Packers went 15-1 the year after they won the Super Bowl. Rodgers won the MVP that season, their D was constantly forcing turnovers, 8-0 at home etc etc and it all ended in the divisional round.
Seattle isn't even as good as they were last year and it is showing. They are surviving against teams who keep coming at them, and it isn't going to get any easier. They'll make the playoffs, but they won't repeat. The rest of the NFL is too damn good this season. The NFL isn't the NBA where a team is a lock for the Super Bowl. I can't believe people are still treating it like that. :lol

How are they not as good as they were last season? They have Harvin now, Wilson will progress as they all do. The team has another year together? Hell yes they are just as lethal.

Defending Super Bowl Champions haven't won a single playoff game the following season in 8 years, and of course they were always GREAT defending Super Bowl Champions, and they would certainly be back in the mix. Not the case. So please don't give me any shit about this Seahawks team is SO different than the previous 8 Super Bowl Champions. I already have a bet with Avante that if the Seahawks don't win a playoff this season, then he leaves this forum forever (unless he inevitably welches.)
2006 Steelers: Missed Playoffs
2007 Colts: Lost to Chargers in divisional playoffs after bye
2008 Giants: Lost to Eagles in divisional playoffs after bye
2009 Steelers: Missed Playoffs
2010 Saints: Lost to Seahawks in Wild Card round
2011 Packers: Lost to Giants in divisional playoffs after bye
2012 Giants: Missed Playoffs
2013 Ravens: Missed Playoffs
2014 Seahawks: ?

Sure, they are still a good team. They'll make the playoffs and be a tough out, but the rest of the league is coming at them. There is a reason there hasn't been a repeat champion in nearly a decade and only 2 in the last 20 years. They are going to be eliminated in the postseason. It's how the law of averages work in the NFL. This isn't the NBA where you have dynasties.

Why ignore all those years prior to 2006? This team is young, they have a great QB, a stud back, a fantastic defense and a great coach. Yep....the Steelers. Yep, the Packers. Yep, the Niners.
Now add the best home field advantage in the league. That's the real "spot" Seattle is in.

do you study raiders trends from the 70's? no. its what's been happening lately. superbowl winners get gassed. bad "spot" in the playoffs

Basically...he claims to be a "football historian" and always talks about how great he is at picking games ATS. Yet somehow he is below .500 for like 2 years running.
I asked the same question as you about 2 weeks ago because everyone talks shit bout him and I wanted to know why...well that was the feedback I got.

Been into pro football since the early 60's. And what came before that I've researched. Nothing I don't know about the game. No player I'm not familiar with if he was anyone at all.
Now add my tracksters/footballers, where I have no equal on this planet.
Saw your Broncos when they had Frank Tripucka at QB, a huge 250 pound fullback out of Villanova named Billy Joe and the great Lionel "caught 100 passes in a season" Taylor out of New Mexico Highlands. The great Floyd Little came a little later.
When you put anyone with that experience in with guys who can only talk 90's-present....hmmmm?

He raped a bunch of kids in Olongopo in bars and brothels while claiming that because all the soldiers picked up underage girls, he did nothing wrong. This faggot has adamantly denied any wrongdoing, and pretty much boasts here on ST that he got away with it. He's also a degenerate gambler, who still drives to the Bank to drop off the mortgage check. He's also an Old Faggot.

- Mariotta #1 on Kipers Draft List? This scrub wouldn't sniff an NFL job in the 90's

The NFL and MLB were definitely better in the '90s.... the NBA, not so much.... the NHL took a dip in quality with the Dead Puck Era but has gotten back to how good it was pre-1995....
