Past history doesn't factor in tbh. It's like asking me who I think will be better next year between Ray Allen and Chauncey Billups. Tearing an achilles is a death sentence for the career of players already in decline. Last year Kobe was a far below average shooting guard before he got hurt again. That's not smack talk, it's fact: shooting 42%, 19% from three, with 5.7 turnovers and a PER of 10.87. I mean there was one player on the entire Spurs team with a worse PER last season: Aron Baynes the fifth big with a 9.76. Why would anyone think Kobe will be any better this season with another year of age on his body?

10-07-2014, 10:25 PM
Wonder what they'll get for Waiters and a first. Maybe Taj Gibson with the trade exception? Valanciunas? Gasp Tiago? Most of the talent at C either can't be got for an undersized liability on D, or isn't worth giving up a 22 year old #4 pick for. As it stands they are one Varejao sprained pussy away from a frontcourt of Love, Thompson, and :downspin:Brendan Haywood:downspin: against Gasol/Noah/Gibson, Nene/Gortat/Pierce, Horford/Millsap/Antic, Drummond/Monroe/Smith, Al Jefferson, and Chris Bosh.

The players who could stay on one team throughout their career and stick it out are the best ones IMO, but I guess go chasing rings if you must at the end of your career if you are not one of those kind of players I mentioned. He went from Boston a so called Rival to a hated Heat team, even Garnett and Pierce did not talk to him after that. I am sorry I don't respect the guy now but thats my opinion.

Celtics had been dangling him in trade rumors for years, why did they deserve his unconditional loyalty? Plus he had already left Milwaukee and Seattle in the past....

Bum is full of crap ... Ray laid your ass out in 2013 but couldnt hardly do shit in 2014 ...

I am enjoying he Cavs hate that is brewing here ... I dont sense and San Antonio Heat vibes the last two Finals have also eliminated some of the Lebron jock ridin' here. Should be good stuff I am actually rooting for the Cavs would Love to see Kevin (ha!) prove he is as good as his stats indicate. Hate em or love 'em Cavs have:

1. One of the best ball-handlers in the league: Irving
2. Two of the best passing forwards in League and NBA history: Lebron and Love
3. Two of the best rebounders at both power forward and small forward: Love and Lebron
4. Clutch shooters: Ray and Miller
5. Great position speed: Lebron, Kyrie Thompson and Waiters

Cant say they will win it all this year but they will be tough to beat ... Still think they should have kept wiggins I think his defense WOULD HAVE made these dudes the faves.

Ray has game winning misses, and Kobe has some great game winners none as big as Ray's shot. None of that means shit though Kobe has and always will be the better player. To bad Ray wasnt in his prime now SG is weak he would dominate the position. As is most will say he is behind BOTH Kobe and Wade (legacy wise).

I didn't say Ray Allen would be a good player. I said Kobe will be an awful one, just like Billups became after tearing his Achilles. It's true that Jesus sucked last year, but he still played way better than Snitch did before he decided to quit and try to disavow responsibility for the clusterfuck he created by running Bible Thumper out of town.

We will see. I got a fake internet $20 that Kobe has better year than Ray. He may shot better from 3pt range and FT line but Kobe will be better in every way including defense though both are gonna suck on that end ...

There is no middle ground with Kobe. Either he will be back at an elite level or he will really hurt his team by trying to still be the star, like a worse version of late 90s Ewing. I'm betting more on the latter based on what we saw last season.

Like I said 100, not calling a title for them yet but they will be tough to beat. I kept waiting for Lebron to turn it up another notch vs. KL last year and I am still waiting. But he has a much better offensive team this year especially passers, so we will see.

Well they are certainly better than 2014 Heat imho, Love>Bosh now, yes people can say Bosh is a decent defender but he himself said he doesn't want to do the dirty work anymore. Kyrie kinda cancels out Wade tbh but we will see this season if Wade can miraculously turn his career around, doubtful though.

I also think that calling the Cavs to be a team that is tough to beat really is an easy call and because of the conference tbh, if they were in the west they wouldn't be favorites as you make them to be but then again that's how the NBA works.

Cavs don't need Ray Allen. It's going to be bad for that system because he's an old veteran and the team is full of young guns. They won't know who to listen to, Lebron or Ray, and if there's ever a disagreement between the two, someone like Kyrie will try to play the D-Wade role.
