Anyone pick this up yet? Got it yesterday for like 50 bucks along with Injustice for the hell out of it and the graphics are sick, there is ample blood and beheadings, and the fighting system doesn't seem overly repetitive like others. I've only been playing for an hour though but it's cool to see a LOTR game that's all dark and sinister. My friend described it as the LOTR version of Force Unleashed. Not sure if that's an accurate comparison since I've never played it but this is pretty entertaining thus far

Once you think you have a hang of the game and it's going to be easy, the game throws a twist at you with these Elite Captains. You can't just continue to attack and parry everyone.

I have heard really great things about the game, but then I hear it get's repetetive in the enemies you face being palette swaps, and the game is really short. I don't care for Lord of the Rings, never seen one of them, never will, but I enjoy gory, violent games..

Is it worth a 37 GB download?

This game is pretty badass.

I think of it as a cross over between the Batman games and Infamous.

It has that same free flow fighting mechanic that the Batman games have which make the game that much awesome fighting the enemies. Only here, you get to lop the enemies heads off and gut them without remorse.

You can upgrade yourself as a ranger (Good powers) or wraith (evil powers) so in that facet of the game, I think it compares to the infamous games.

Yeah, they are bloated textures. Skyrim with a million texture mods only commands 3 GB, those devs are lazy as shit. There are comparison videos on YouTube, and you can hardly notice any difference between high and ultra textures

I mean, chopping the heads of orks and uruks and gutting them in different ways not violent enough for you then you got problems. lol

There are some cool finishing moves. You can really do some crazy shit with the bright lord. He has one crazy ass move where he goes super saiyan and does like a hundred stab in like 5 seconds.

I've only played it for a few hours so I'm still finding out all the moves and what you can do, but so far I'm finding new ways to dispose of the enemies.

It's a fun ass game and is definitely enjoyable if you're not expecting a GOTY type. But that campaign was kind of short and the ending was ghey imo, I wanted to actually whip the black hand's ass. It's fun getting into crazy battles with like 100 dudes at once though. Lots of cool finishers

So the Bright Lord dlc finally came out the other day. Finally getting to play that shit. Tbh it seems a bit repetitive but I like the little back and forths between Celebrimbor and Sauron so far. I always thought the wraith was a badass compared to Talion so I'm enjoying using him and getting to use the power of the one ring. Still annoyed it took 6 months for this though :lol

I beat the Bright Lord campaign the other day...ehh...it was definitely fun and the one ring is awesome to use in game but it ended very quickly, literally the entire campaign is to build like 4 forge towers (basically missions where you just brand a bunch of orcs), brand the Warchiefs, then fight Sauron and ultimately (obviously) lose. There are other missions you can do to increase duration of one ring powers but that's pretty much it. You could knock it out and a couple hours sadly. While it was fun I'm annoyed that they used the word campaign to describe this because it's more like a side story.

I finally got around to installing the T-Bone missions for Watchdogs so I guess I'll play that now

I agree with this. I can't play this game for 2-3 hours at a time like I can Dying Light, but it's starting to grow on me in 30-45 minute sessions.

My desktop from 2011 actually handles it pretty well, most of the stuff is set to high. My laptop won't run it very well though because it's so processor intensive.

1.4 is a huge jump over 1.2 and now I'm only using 2.8GB of VRAM to get a better looking and better performing game.

Yep, Sandy bridge i5 on desktop. Slightly GPU bound with dual 6950 2gb.

I got the GOTY edition so I doubt I'll ever even come close to completing all the shit it has.. I had to install CheatEngine for the FOV fix cause god damn these idiots thought placing the camera 6 inches off dude's back and eliminating 90% of the view was a smart idea.. It's a completely different game being able to see the world around you
