Julius isn't the best TE in the league IMO. He's just a TD guy. Doesn't dominate all over the field and makes mistakes. Still top 5, but he's just a TD guy that is on an unsustainable pace tbh.

There isnt a TE better than him now that Gronk lost his speed and Jimmy Graham's ugly, inbreed ass looks like damaged goods, tbh..

Julius's only weakness is blocking, and he has made dramatic improvements there since entering the league..

He's never going to put up huge yard numbers in the Broncos' current scheme, too many peripheral weapons and Manning moves the ball around to easier mismatches..

Jimmy Graham is still better. His QB is just falling off. A few other guys are in the running because they do things all over the field, not just from 6 yards out where you're bigger than everyone and have the best regular season QB of all time..

it doesn't matter when you talk about teams who have nothing in common with the teams from 5 years ago, the raiders being an example. same with teams like the texans, bills, bengals, crowns, ravens, chiefs, jets, dolphins, colts who have seen incredible turnover

brady's patriots have been a constant, as were peyton's colts.

the steelers had been, but they've fallen off since their defense has gotten old and they've drafted poorly. if i'm picking the steelers matchup this year, i'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt because they won the superbowl 5 years ago

You do know that these teams have the same owners and usually the same coachs, right? They have a particular culture, they do things in a certain way. They build teams in a certain way.

Why haven't the Lions or Browns ever been in a SB despite the fact those franchises have seen tons of players come and go? Your Raiders haven't won more than 8 games in a season for 10 years, and we are talking totally different players, so...????

Actually the knock was that he couldn't stay healthy for the money he was making. The Broncos got him for 3 million less a year. He's great when he's able to play. It's interesting that you call Murray a ticking time bomb but ignore Ware. We'll see how that works out for you.

BTW, I'll take "beating mediocre teams" over "losing to mediocre teams" 10 out of 10 times.

On the NFC side, you could be right about that, but it's so early. The Cowboys have been really good because they're finally playing smart football, but I don't know that they're a great team yet. Having a punishing running game is great for so many reasons, but I'm not convinced it's enough to beat complete teams. I think we'll know more about them after the Arizona game. They're getting really timely turnovers and their tackling has been superb. Don't know if that makes up for not being able to cover receivers. Brandon Carr was the second-worst starting corner in the league, and that's before Morris Claiborne got hurt. :lol

Yes, Sanders is that good, and I have no idea what's going on with Tamme/Julius..Broncos fans are all wondering about what happened to JT's role since his early season historic dominance..

i dno about 15+, but Sanders is pretty damn good. he caught my eye in Pitt but they misused him like crazy. he's got some serious quickness and gets in and out of his cuts as good as anybody, but unlike welker/edelman he can consistently run deeper routes.

Pitt basically used him as a fly route specialist, and Ben's lack of ability to let the ball go quickly hurt Sanders, while benefitting elite deep threats like Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, etc

Sanders getting targets is fine, but situationally Peyton should be a bit smarter about it...

like i don't agree with throwing deep sideline throws when the coverage is tight. occasionally sanders might make the over the shoulder play, but its not a smart throw to make to a shorter receiver. obviously if he blew by jam coverage and has separation, its a different story

DPG21920
11-02-2014, 09:18 PM
My point, is not about forcing to Sanders, but not forcing some more to the more talented targets. If a guy has some tough coverage, it's still worth it to get Julius and Demar the ball more. If teams are playing to where they are fine letting Sanders get 15+ targets, maybe you should dictate things vs just taking that unless you really think hes THAT talented.

Denver's problem today was Welker + trying way too hard to establish the run. When you're a pass heavy team there are some games where the run is never going to get going and it should just be abandoned, and this was one of them.

Not really talking about just this game. It's like since that game a few weeks ago where he had only like 3 targets, Peyton/DEN have made an effort to get him 10+ targets since and it's resulted in a bad loss toady and JT being completely out of the game plan. Could work out, just thought it was interesting because I don't know if he's so good that you would want to make sure he gets 10+ targets no matter what.

It can be in terms of you dictating things vs allowing the defense to scheme and game plan and you just have to do what they want you to. This is the third week in a row since they've adjusted to get Sanders the ball that Julius has been completely elimnated from the game plan.

It's resulted in a bad loss to one of the few good teams they have played.

i dont think Sanders getting targets is what resulted in a loss.

Manning threw two picks, and Tamme/Welker combined for 4 catches on 12 targets. Tamme getting a 4th down look while JT is blocking, etc. Sanders performed when thrown at

on the other side of the ball, Brady was doing whatever he wanted for most of the game

if the defense is going to "allow" sanders to catch 12 passes, then that's just bad defense, not bad gameplanning... what difference does it make if Sanders has 10 catches for 150 yards or if JT has 10 catches for 150 yards?

DPG's shtick is so silly, tbh:lol..

Defense wasn't as dominant as they have been all year, but they were good enough today, tough to defend when the offense can't move the ball and turns it over twice..it's virtually impossible to win a game with only 7 points on the board..

Only concern is how terrible Manning looked without Thomas and Sanders..could have cost the Broncos HFA, which will make it difficult to beat New England in the playoffs..hopefully he shakes it off..

Denver's D was ranked in the top 5-7 by most metrics going into today's game, against a tough schedule, too..he's reaching..

Broncos are a soft finesse team, they'll fold when they get punched in the mouth. Any physical team beats them in the playoffs, tbh...
Like i was saying, physical teams wreck the Broncos 8 times out of 10 tbh. Beat them up and it throws them off peytons gimmicky little offense.
