sons the sheer ignorance and stupidity of this forum is legendary.. ahem Malik Hairston (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=18403)

yeah we're 2-4 but he has 300 yards, 2 touchdowns in each of his last 4 games.. not his fault the defense can't make a stop and goodell's continuous anti-nawlins agenda has the refs calling everything against us

he only threw for 5162 yards, 39 tds 12 ints last year at 35 years old :lol obviously he just suddenly started sucking this year for no reason at all

Brees will retire as one of the top half dozen QB's in the league. Then he will take his place in the HOF as one of the best ever.

This season his defense is letting him down and Graham isn't the same, only a fool wouldn't see that. He's still one of the top 4 QB's in the league.

Everyone but Saints fan knew they weren't contenders this season. Investing most your money into a TE, especially one as bullheaded as Graham was an obvious poor move.

Last place team in the NFC West. Like I stated before the season.

Doesn't change the fact that the Saints could be easily 5-2 or 6-1. They'll be the rest of the way and should win an easy division meaning a home wild card game and a good chance to get into the divisional round.

Pelicans78
10-31-2014, 08:42 PM
Luck has been turnover prone as well. Brees has a higher QBR at this point even though I don't know what that stat means. Brees has been really sharp the last three games including a blowout win against the Packers and at the Lions which has been one of the best defenses in the league. Brady has played shit competition during their winning streak. I've seen nothing from him that shows he's better than Brees right now.

Pelicans78
11-09-2014, 05:39 PM
Brees has always turned the ball over against the Niners whether it was in 2011 or now. But his turnovers were huge today. He's just not patient enough against this defense. Niners don't allow alot of big plays. Some of this is on Payton too. He runs an antiquated offense.

Malik Hairston
11-09-2014, 05:58 PM
It's hard to put him in a top 5 right now imo

He's still top 5 in the NFC Conference, tbh, off the top of my head..probably on the latter end of the 5, though..

I'd like to see him utilized in an Alex Smith role, since he can't win games by himself anymore..

DPG21920
11-09-2014, 06:14 PM
Who cares about being Top 5? Just because the QB position is weaker now and he's still top 5, doesn't mean he hasn't declined. No one says he sucks. Just that there's been a step back from what his normal level of play has been.

Malik Hairston
11-16-2014, 04:54 PM

Peyton, Rodgers, Brady (lol Pelican78), Luck. Even with Rivers' struggles lately that's a tossup.

Since the Saints only have 1 win on the road this year (against Cat in those obtuse thursday night games) , there's a blowout alert in Shittsburgh this weekend and a good performance by Big Rape would propel him over Brees if he's not above him already, imo

Brees is 3rd in the NFL in passing yards this season, an is on pace for another 5,000 yard season.
But his passing TDs are down by his standards (tied for 6th in NFL, on pace for 32TDs), and he has had some killer game changing interceptions. I'm not going to jump the gun and say that he is declining or if he is just having a subpar season. Look at Tom Brady's stats last season. He had a bad year, and look at him now.

:lol at Saints fans that use his passings stats to show he isn't regressing.

When you pass the ball 50+ times a la 2007 Hawaii, you are going to consistently put up stats. Brees has lot three games this year losing at home, has thrown consistent horrible interceptions, and has led them to what, 4-7? The Saints are lucky that the Falcons, Panthers and even the Bucaneers blow.

You guys have the division, no doubt, grats... I'll deff take the top ten pick though. Matter of time before the collapse occurs. Good run though.

Not sure where this sample size is coming from, since only once in his entire career has he thrown more than 50 passes in multiple games of a season. That hardly equates to consistently throwing it that many times.

We have two games where our teams face off next weekend.

N.C. State goes to Mobile next Saturday night to face my school South Alabama and obviously Saints and Panthers meet.

BTW, hope your Yanks beat the Jays this week so the Royals can maintain the lead for top seed in the AL.

Yeah and that team has since been to two straight Super Bowls...and was a couple yards away from winning both of them.

I know you're a die-hard Panthers fan...and you want to win a "great" division. But, the NFC South is not that. Carolina is a good team...but the Bucs have been awful for a long time now. The Saints seem to be on the downward spiral right now. And the Falcons are well...the Falcons.

Not arguing that the Panthers are in the driver's seat to win the division...I just disagree that the NFC South is somehow a "good" division. It's not. Yeah, 4 bad teams can make the division "competitive"...but the Saints were the last "dominant" team in the division to win a SB. Then you've got to go back a long time to the Bucs SB win...

It was a good division before last season. The Saints and Panthers were very good in 2013. The Falcons almost made the Super Bowl in 2012 though the rest of the division was average. The 2011 Saints should have made it to the Super Bowl and the Falcons were a playoff team as well. In 2010, the Falcons, Saints, and Bucs each won 10 games.

Today....Right Now....what letter grade would you give the NFC South.

You're picking and choosing great years by teams. Bucs went 2-14 last year...that's gotta be factored in the overall equation. Carolina goes 12-4...wins the division...but their 7-8-1 season must be factored in also.

I know that the division has been good before...but right now...I'm not seeing it. And I always that it was cool/funny how the last place team would win the division the following year.

He looks great lately, I'll give him credit..not sure what he's doing differently, this is the best he has looked in like a year and a half:lol..

I wish Manning would take the same PEDs, tbh..

Saints should make the playoffs, at least..impressive turnaround, looked like it was going to be a 5-11 season..

Besides the PEDs he and Ben Watson are using, the offensive line has become very good with the addition of Max Unger and a healthy Jahri Evans.

Ben Watson is proving how much Graham was a product of the Saints offense.

I thought I read earlier in the season that he had a shoulder or arm injury? Is that correct?

He has a bruised rotator cuff. Its getting better, but still not 100% healthy.

Yes, he'll restructure & extend at a hometown discount. Sean Payton might not be though. We'll know in a week or so.
