Hopefully it's not another debacle like what happened in the Lou.

I'd like to see Richardson stay the primary on kickoff returns, Walters on punts.

After seeing what the Chiefs did to the Rams, I would agree with you. We should've won that game. No excuses. The Rams out hustled us and out thought us that day in the Lou. I'm telling you--winning that title has made our team fat with success and so they start to think they can just show up. Remember last year when the mantra was every week is Championship week? That was the epitome of going all out for that game, for that time. Now you don't hear it--all you hear is bickering about in-fighting or the future of your status or how the locker room is. This has become a distraction.

Not too many vets with voices, all the young guns at the helm now. So there's a power grab in the locker room and it has to work itself out. Actually, it's pretty set in stone and niggas have to accept it :lol. And times are a changin', so some are reluctant to relinquish. We have been beat up pretty good so far, and det schedule is no pushover when you take into account the division games on top of it. Packers, Chargers, Broncos to start the year? But we are the defending champs so it's understandable. I'm just mad at the St. Louis loss, the others are OK.

That Rams loss...though, to be fair, last year we should've lost vs. the Rams in the Lou as well. I thought we would be 5-2 and that would've been alright. I mean, we did beat the Packers and Broncos so the 4 wins are not so-so wins. Also, to beat a team 3 straight times at their place is a tough thing to do in any sport let alone the NFL. Definitely got to stop thinking like kings and play like warriors.

Oh for sure we have 3 quality wins, Washington is going through some things but still being competitive. We did escape St. Louis last year, but that's our division. Tough games, a lot of familiarity. Except for week 1, we really haven't put a full game together. Well, that Denver game we did until late in the fourth. I would like to see a well rounded victory. All of the games have pretty much been close though. No one has demolished us so I thin if we can string a few together we'll be just fine.

The Gemini Method
10-28-2014, 01:30 PM
Rams and then the Giants...both at home? So that'll be a spot that we should be 6-3. Although the Giants are no slouch this year and I'd expect a different outcome than the 23-0 showing we had last year. They need to stop responding to these asinine media reports about Wilson being an Uncle Tom or Lynch choosing Starburst over Skittles shit. That drivel will bring you down. Heavy is the head...

Raiders, Giants, Chiefs, Cards are the next four. Only KC is on the road. Need at least 3 of the 4 because the next 4 after that are: S.F, Philly, S.F, Arizona. Only one of which is at home (2nd S.F game).

I think we for sure beat the raiders and giants. After that, its going to be difficult to call. 5-2 would put us at 11-5. That would be awesome but I don't know. This team has been up and down all year.

Yeah that near turnaround with our biggest rivals was stupid. Now it can break one of ours seasons and take from a chance to have one of those classic tilts in the beginning of the season and then have one when the playoff chase is heating up. Who the fuck does that to the SB champs :cry.

I'm up not down $$$$, so constantly lose isn't accurate. And I haven't lost any $$$$ vs the NFL in over a decade. Sure, first starting out.

BTW, you still haven't shared any of your expertise in regards to handling post SB success, being a Bills fan I figured you should have a wealth of knowledge on the subject seeing as how you could study so many others that have been there. No biggie, perhaps one day you'll share.

In regards to your bet proposal, I do not make emotional bets. From an emotionless non-biased perspective, you are actually proposing two bets disguised as one. The first, being that the Seahawks actually make the playoffs. The second, that they win a game if/when they get there. Seeing as how the record stands at 4-3 midway through the year, with a vicious back end, it is unwise to take such a bet that's clearly stacked against our heroes. If you would've proposed this prior to week 1, I would've been more inclined to take the bet. If however the Hawks end up making the postseason and you'd still like to place a bet, then I would be far more open to that proposal when the odds are more even.

Other than some really strong trends standing the test of time like.....Steelers haven't lost a MNF game at home in 23 years....or the Raiders haven't won in the eastern time zone since the pilgrims landed.......I don't go back any further than last season and usually start over with a new coach. But to totally history is silly, just look at the Pats, they are always in the play off hunt as players come and go...why? Yep, the best coach/QB combo in the league.

Look at what your Raiders did under Allen, yep, sucked! They went 12-20ATS heading into 2014, so just play against them and win.

First part, way too long a setup and very try-hard...killed your own joke before it ever got off the ground.

Second, the Seahawks control their own destiny in the division, and will more than likely will be only one game out of the lead by end of this weekend. A SB-champion in prime position to re-claim the division is not good enough for you, though. You'll only make a play when it's a sure-thing, much like RW in the SB

The Saints are abysmal on the road--particularly on grass, TNF. Carolina will not be that inept on offense (at home) 2 weeks in a row. Look for Benjamin to have 150+ yds and for the Panthers to win outright

Sooner or later, the Saints are going to take all of that road struggle frustration and just plain demolish someone away from the dome. I think this could be the game that happens. This game is so important in turning the season around and getting back to their goal this season, which was to contend for it all. Even though it goes against all recent logic, it wouldn't surprise me if the Saints win this game big. like 38-13.

We have conflicting trends here, all the historical stats point towards Carolina in this "spot". Then we have the "better QB on Thursday night"? factor. So far this season the winner of these Thursday games had the better QB with the exception of week one and Seattle beating Green Bay, but there we had an unusual home field advantage.

So to try and battle conflicting trends/situations.....why?

And from the sharp mind of Chip Kelly: "You know you can't control destiny. Destiny is a predetermined set of events, therefore if it's predetermined you can't control it."

It's looking at what has transpired, and what's in the future, and making an assessment. And the odds aren't remotely 50/50, and you know it LOL. Why should I take a bet that isn't near even, that's lopsided in my opponents favor? "I don't believe the Seahawks can win a playoff game this year." There, just say it and it'll feel better. Do not respond to me again unless you put cash on the table. Your opinions aren't worthy enough and you need to pay for my time.

:cry "You're not a real man, and making rash emotionally based decisions"

Betting on football is an emotional experience for you?

In this situation, emotion would have to over power logic. When all the aspects of it are out on the table, logic says more than tread lightly. I always Billieve in my teams, no matter what. And I'll tell you that they'll come through when the chips are down. But, (this is obvious in saying) that's not a smart way to bet.

So you're saying logic/common sense dictates the Seahawks won't win a playoff game?

I'm saying logic says it would be very difficult to attain, the odds aren't favorable that they make the playoffs. They literally have to run a gauntlet. I'm not saying they won't. If they make the playoffs, I think they'll win a game, home or road.

These are the last 7 games of the year (As you already know, and thus proposed the bet LOL):

@K.C
Arizona
@49ers

The Saints are abysmal on the road--particularly on grass, TNF. Carolina will not be that inept on offense (at home) 2 weeks in a row. Look for Benjamin to have 150+ yds and for the Panthers to win outright

Saints should beat the fuck out of this team. Carolina will always be inept on offense because they have a shitty o-line, only one good WR and Cam is still their QB. Saints should win by two TDs tonight. If not, its on Brees and Payton. No excuse for losing to this shitty ass team.

that comment would persuade me a lot more if you didnt have a huge saints emblem under your username

Sooner or later, the Saints are going to take all of that road struggle frustration and just plain demolish someone away from the dome. I think this could be the game that happens. This game is so important in turning the season around and getting back to their goal this season, which was to contend for it all. Even though it goes against all recent logic, it wouldn't surprise me if the Saints win this game big. like 38-13.

I told you the Saints would kick their asses. Panthers suck this season just like we were telling Frizzle. He was in denial.

didn't say it was impossible, but i always take it with a grain of salt when a fan of a team says their team will win

I'll give you Raiders +23.5 for $200 ($100 if you're strapped right now). That's 8.5 above the current line w/o any teasing or odds--you'll never get a better deal than that from any bookie in your lifetime.

ill take it for 100, dont work nearly as much during this time of the year

sig/avatar/caption bet, but we go by the spread rather than straight up.

since i'm betting 2 people, if i win, i decide each of your sigs/avatars/captions for 1 week, and if you guys win, i will take 2 weeks of similar punishment, one of you overseeing one week, the other overseeing a second week

I see nothing wrong with this: I'm in!

Deal.

I'm just hoping it's not over 8 points :lol
i'll PM details at some point tonight :lol

I'm here to own up to my penance! Glad we won--but it still looks like we can't hold on to a lead for shit.
