Only things that might mitigate things imo is Green's comparative lack of playing time (35mpg vs 25mpg last year) and lower scoring average (18.4 vs 9.1 ppg) compared to Thompson. Surprising how many people still see 18ppg and = $$$.

It's a weird position to be in for GSW cause they could probably salvage something decent at the 2 spot if they let him walk, but they already turned down a bunch of trades involving Thompson and if they ended up getting stuck with a Wayne Ellington at SG that team would suck.
