The big news coming out of Monday's practice is that Brazilian big-man Tiago Splitter (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/24281/tiago-splitter) was among those participating for the first time all season after straining his right calf on the second day of training camp. Before last Tuesday's season-opener against the Dallas Mavericks, Spurs (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/teams/san-antonio-spurs) coach Gregg Popovich (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/98773/gregg-popovich) said that Splitter's injury had somehow spread to his back, so it was surprising indeed to hear the revelation that Splitter is "probable" for Wednesday's home game against the Hawks (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/teams/atlanta-hawks).
So, how did Splitter look, coach?
"Oh he looks great," Popovich said, jokingly. "On a scale of 1-10, he looked fine. Handsome kid."
