A good method I use is to enter about 5 of the 50/50 contests where as long as you finish better than half on the entries you double your money. It is really easy to at least go 75% on these. I pretty much count those as auto double ups and then I use that money to enter the big tourney's with around 50,000 people in them with the hopes of hitting a big one. I basically play the big tourneys for free now with this method and it's worked for the two weeks I've been doing fan duel.

Basic premise:

-You join matches, which range from $1 and go up for buy-in. There are different kind of matches like tournaments, H2H, and 50/50 (where you win a certain percentage if you are in the top 50%).
-You choose players from a set of games chosen from that night. It might include all games, it might include just a few.
-You are given a salary cap and you create a fantasy style team from those players (2 PG, 2 SG, 2 SF, 2 PF, 1 C). Player's salaries are higher if they have higher fantasy value (i.e. Lebron was nearly a fifth of my salary cap)
-Players score points base on stats (Point = 1pt, Rebound = 1.2pts, Assist = 1.5pts, Block = 2pts, Steal = 2pts, Turnover = -1pt)

I entered only the Thursday leagues this week because I've noticed a trend. Mother fuckers blow their whole wad on as many people as they can on the Thursday night game. It eliminates an 1/5 of the field and before your Sunday guys even play a snap. It makes no sense to me unless these dumb shits think there you have to play all the Thursday players in a Thursday league. I'm already in the money in a 60,000 person league and all I had playing was the Bills defense.

This is the new strategy in NFL Fan Duel. Play all Thursday leagues and don't take Thursday players.

Nah not in fan duel. You've got 3 WR to fill compared to 1 Qb. You can have your 40 point Manning I'll take 3 20+ point WR's. Also QB's only get 4 points for TD's in Fan Duel.

That is the winning formula. Be sure to check out how all the guys who win the league your in set up their team. They are lucky for sure, but the strategy is the same from the top guys.

Also not sure about Antonio...Big Ben has been poor on the road and that is a lot of money to bank on Antonio. You can get away with Bryant at his cost but if Brown busts you are done.

Should get one going in the NFL forum. Would give me a reason to post in there again.

The key is saving and moving around the extra 200 dollars wherever you can.

I play a 4500 kicker every week and rarely spend more than 4700 on a defense. You can get such better players with the extra money saved. Kelvin Benjamin is another great value at 6600 this week. Jerrick McKinnon too if he plays, only 5500.

Find those guys first and fill your roster afterwards.

Yes and no. It's total points, but different things have different values. For example a QB throwing a TD is 4 points, while a WR catching a TD is 6 points.

I also think the best strategy is playing the same lineup over and over. What I mean by that is FanDuel is tough because of variablity. On most nights for example, Curry will be a very high scoring player, but on any given night, he may have a dud like tonight. I have noticed that on lineups I really like, if I played that same lineup every night I probably would have won more often than not.

Obviously it's difficult to do that because the same teams don't play every night and human nature makes us gun-shy when a guy has a bad night, but if you can limit the volatility you probably will do better.

I just started looking back through my history and I realized that the leagues I were entering then were much smaller....50-250 people and my scores were lower but I was winning about the same amount of money I am now. I may switch up my league strategy next week and enter 5 smaller ones now that my point totals are consistently higher. To win big in the 60000 person leagues you need like 175-200 points and every single player on your team has to go nuts. I still have like one or two players that clunk and I'd have better luck in a smaller league I think.

Also, on the volatility note, if your goal is to truly make money, it's best to steer clear of big tournaments. If you do the 50/50 leagues or one on ones, your chances will improve. Obviously, it's smaller dollar amounts you win, but if long-term winning is your main goal, then that's probably the best way to go.

Basic premise:

-You join matches, which range from $1 and go up for buy-in. There are different kind of matches like tournaments, H2H, and 50/50 (where you win a certain percentage if you are in the top 50%).
-You choose players from a set of games chosen from that night. It might include all games, it might include just a few.
-You are given a salary cap and you create a fantasy style team from those players (2 PG, 2 SG, 2 SF, 2 PF, 1 C). Player's salaries are higher if they have higher fantasy value (i.e. Lebron was nearly a fifth of my salary cap)
-Players score points base on stats (Point = 1pt, Rebound = 1.2pts, Assist = 1.5pts, Block = 2pts, Steal = 2pts, Turnover = -1pt)

So, I just joined tonight and want to make sure I understand... It is like fantasy league but players are chosen daily and reset for each game/league?

Victor Oladipo (face) has been cleared by the Magic's medical staff, and is now being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Bucks.

There was a report that came out on Thursday stating that Oladipo would not suit up Friday, so his status is a bit murky at the moment. It's not clear if he'll have a minutes restriction upon making his return, but there's sure to be plenty of updates as we get closer to Friday's tip. It varies by matchups, but I've liked going with high-end PGs(Lillard, Wall, Lowry, etc) combined with a Donald Sloan/Isiah Canaan, and if I'm going really cheap, even a Devin Harris..I hit on Cojo against the Rockets, too..

I understand the mid-range PG options, but I've personally had shitty luck with them..Holiday killed me against the Lakers, Teague killed me last time I chose him, Kemba Walker killed me twice, etc..

From what I can tell, it seems pretty easy to win the 50/50's as most of the people who play it don't really "know" basketball.... They seem to pick all the big names for each position, wasting their cap space, then fill out their roster with scrubs.

Easy to place in the top %50 if you know who does well in certain matchups. As long as you place in the top %50 you get the same pay as the 1st place person. It is a small payout but it is pretty much guaranteed if you know Basketball.

Of course, if I lose tomorrow, my credibility will be shot to shit. :lmao

I don't see that happening though, I fully expect to get paid for all 14 50/50's I joined. :toast

The payout is chump change but if you know who to pick fantasy league style you will win.... As long as you are in the top %50.
