Pre-ordered.

Cant Wait.

Of course PC is the way to go. Dragon Age 2 was a disaster by trying to cater to consoles, especially when DA:O was specifically designed as a successor to games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

Been wanting to get into RPGs lately and I think this one is a good enough re-start for me. Seriously thinking about getting it.

You should really check out DA:O just to get into the lore... it is one of the best RPG's since Baldurs Gate and the graphics, while not "next Gen", still hold up today. You can probably get it for real cheap on Steam or Origin these days and it is WELL worth it. Only do Dragon Age 2 if you REALLY want to get into the lore that leads up to Dragon Age Inquisition... They really shit on the franchise with that game trying to cater to consoles, as evidence by the way they designed DA3.

like everything EA touches, they fucking murdered this franchise... hopefully they can redeem themselves with this one, although that "Not connected to Dragon Age servers" doesn't look all that positive, tbh

From every review I have heard/read, the game is amazing. The story might be a bit of a wash and the final boss may be forgettable, but from what I have read "rushing" through the game takes 85-90 hours for the main story alone and there is still a TON of content to explore beyond that.

To clarify with why I think they ruined it with DA2 (It was EA, no doubt about it)....

DA:O was a DELIBERATE homage to the old Infinity Engine days (Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape). Bioware EXPLICETLY said that they were doing DA:O to bring back those games.... Then after DA:O was a success they sold out to EA... and it all went to shit. DA2 comes out and it is not only "dumbed down" for consoles (NOTHING resembling the original mission of DA:O bringing back the "Infinity Engine" feel), they resorted to using the same 15-20 maps for every single location, just with shitty concrete looking doors blocking off passages that you may or may not have been down before, ALL throughout the game.

What you just read may confuse you, let me clarify on why this was bad. When you start DA2 and you start doing quests through certain areas, you would notice these peculiar generic concrete looking doors that you could not pass.... Only to find later in the game you end up in essentially the same map except these concrete blocks have moved locations allowing you access to areas you have or have not been before... This is a theme all through the game and amounted to about less than 20 original locations In an RPG.

Don't get it twisted though, the story and dialog was pretty damn good, but when you are 30 hours into the game and running through the same dungeon you went through at the start of the game for the 20th time in an RPG, it leaves a bitter taste.

Needless to say, people were pissed. The DLC released later addressed some of this, but it was not enough. Hence the big ambitious release of Inquisition.

hopefully they got it right, and from what I have seen and read, they did. Ultimately, we will find out Monday at midnight. Looking forward to it.

DA2 wasn't just "dumbed down for console". I played DA:O and DA2 both on the XBox 360, and the DA2 was just a terrible game even in consoles.

Nono is old school.

He plays for the story, could care less about graphics.

I mean they're nice but I'm also into the story of a game, too.

I've always found the Assasin's Creed games to have good story but terrible gameplay mechanics.

These should play great on your 16-bit 360.. (just bustin' ya bwalls)

Far Cry 4 - 11/8
WWE 2k15
Escape Dead Island? (this one is iffy unless you are a zombie guy)
Shadow of Mordor - 11/18
Dragon Age - 11/18 (I know nothing about this franchise, but you steal all of your games so who cares. Get it.)

Not into zombie games, BUT Dead Island games have been more about whacking than "horror" stuff... we'll see.

And that doesn't include the games I got on Origin, FilePlanet (now owned by gamestop I think), GOG, and a myriad of games from other places.

Yes, I pirate shit, but I also pay if it is worth it. If not, It is deleted. Not worth my Hard Drive space.

I can't get into this game... i just want to use my character, don't want to switch around and micromanage every battle or the whole party. Now my party has low health and there are no potions or healing spells. And I really didn't even get into any difficult battle yet. Load times also kinda suck. I'll try to advance the story a little more, but overall, fairly displeased so far.

I played the 1st and 2nd one all the way through. It's not the potion usage, I ran out of healing potions and I don't know where to get more/craft more... while looking for an answer, I read they really discouraged healing items in this game (both potions and spells), which IMO fucking blows. They say you're supposed to use the Barrier/Guard spells, but I'm not even a mage and I don't want to have to switch to the mage to cast that shit on every battle. ugh, hope it's just me doing something wrong, I want to like this game, but it's just annoying.

mage autocasts it tbh. you reload healing potions at every camp you set up. if you use your inquisition perks at the wartable you can add more potions. i think i have 10 now. told you it starts out slow until you select mages or templars it speeds up. i've only used my character unless he dies then i switch to the mage to revive him.

eventually a bee potion or whatever appears as a mission on the wartable that allows you to craft a regenerative potion. as a warrior i went reaver and they have a move to self heal....i don't even use potions anymore tbh.

no worries. keep a lookout for "supply crates" as well. if you're on a long level there are usually some around. they restore your potions too. hit L3 to search for things.

be warned though everything but the tank is really squishy. for every pull i have the other characters charge in first then i flank.

I finally finished the main campaign....56 hours of playtime without doing much extra.

I'm almost 80 hours into this game and it doesn't even seem like I've made much progress with the storyline. Once you get to Skyhold the game really opens up and there's so much to keep you occupied.

I was worried at first when I found out that they didn't include any healing spells this time around, but I actually like it this way now. I don't waste a companion slot on somebody that is there to only heal/buff. My one complaint is that the rogues seem weak as hell. They are always the first ones to drop. I became a Knight Enchanter and I'm pretty much invincible. Blackwall is badass also. If I ever replay, I'm going to go with a sword and board.

You should have done a war table quest that said "specialization for the inquisitor" or something like that. then three trainers walk into skyhold in a cutscene. They're located at the south end of skyhold on the wall. You choose which one you want from them and then do a quick fetch mission to gain that specialization.

That's probably why you're getting owned by dragons imo. Once you have champion as a tank you're unkillable.

:lol yeah, I finished it on level 20 and with no specialization... didn't seem to matter to finish the story. I actually killed half the dragons now, but killing those with 20+ level is still a problem (I'm at level 22)... I did specialize as a champion though, didn't seem to make much difference. What actually mattered the most was to switch the power-ups to increase guard...

Blackwell is doing great tbh, but Cassandra and Verric get killed real quick. Unfortunately, since I finished the main story, I basically have no mages to add to the party now. I might just try again with all 4 tanks... anyways, I'm heading out for the holidays so I'll probably pick it back up when I get back...

I went to a couple high level maps too early, they were excruciating but fun, and then the rest of the game was cruise control after that. I faffed about as much as possible and still never found all the plants or potions, some of that stuff reserved for DLC or something?
