I wonder how bad disk inflammation is.

It can get pretty bad. You don't want any kind of compression on the nerve rootlets. Best to reduce that inflammation and let him rest, rather than making the situation worse and causing potential long-term permanent damage. Plus, it's only November.

Leonard: Vision 'not all the way back'

San Antonio Spurs (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/sa/san-antonio-spurs) forward Kawhi Leonard (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6450/kawhi-leonard), who battled conjunctivitis during the preseason, says his vision still hasn't returned to normal.
"My right eye, the vision's not all the way back yet," Leonard told the San Antonio Express News (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2014/11/09/leonard-says-right-eye-still-blurry/). "Hopefully I can heal up soon. I've just got to keep competing so I can get used to it and get my rhythm going."
Leonard, last season's Finals MVP, is playing through the condition.
"I have to. That's what I'm doing now," he told the paper. "I can't wait and sit on the sidelines anymore just wasting games. It might not ever clear up until summer, so I'm playing now."
Doctors told Leonard the ailment just has to run its course.
"[Team eye specialist Dr. Ed Rashid] said there were some military guys who had it for weeks and some for months," Leonard said, according to the paper.
Leonard collected 14 points and 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the season on Saturday but missed a pair of shots in the closing seconds in the 100-99 loss (http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=400578381) to the New Orleans Pelicans (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/no/new-orleans-pelicans). After sitting out the Spurs' opener with his eye infection, he shot only 7 for 26 in his first three games. He made 5 of his 13 shots in Saturday's loss.
Meanwhile, Spurs center Tiago Splitter (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3233/tiago-splitter) will see a back specialist about a nerve problem. Splitter is also dealing with a calf strain, which doctors believe could be related to disk inflammation that was discovered in an MRI.
"They found a little inflammation in a disc," Splitter told the Express News (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2014/11/08/splitter-to-see-back-specialist-when-spurs-visit-l-a/) before the game Saturday. "Nothing like a hernia or anything like that. It's not a sciatic problem. But it's something that gives me more tension in the nerve of the calf and gives me these problems. We don't know if it is a problem in the calf or the back. It's complicated.
"We're going to see a back specialist and see what he says about it and see what he suggests to do."

Man, we need Tiago out there.

Its surprising how big a drop off their is behind the Spurs top 3 bigs. Even if he can eat up 15-20 minutes we'd be much better off heading into a tough stretch including @ LAC, @ GSW, and @ Cleveland.

after TD, splitter, and diaw the big man line up is mighty limited. no telling how long Tiago will be out.

Hmm. Wonder if McDyess can still suit up.

Should have dropped the dead weight Erros, and Daye during the summer and brought in something actually useful for these situations. Oh well I guess we just got to roll with what we got.

WE are going to continue to struggle as long as Tiago is out, and it is not sounding good about him returning.

If anyone doubted his value, just notice how much better the offense looked in the few minutes in which he played in that one game.

This is tough. But...he needs to stay out until there is no chance of it recurring. Maybe Baynes will figure something out. (I have always been an optimist)

Blake is probably going to destroy the Spurs tonight. Hopefully the Spurs can survive his points and just focus on shutting the wing players/guards down enough.

Pretty sure Tony's vision has been poor from the onset, seeing only Manu and Tim, and the rim most of the time (but Larry O a few times as well).
