I think you've got a great team... I'm guessing you had the #1 pick. Surprising Julius fell to your second round pick (assuming that is where you got him).

Only real weakness is backup RB. You've got good depth at WR... Stokley may be worth starting over Darrel Jackson once he's healthy.

Try 4th round, I had first pick and didn't notice when it got back to me that it was so open. Seriously, only two people (me and another guy) knew what we were doing. Kickers and defensive teams, were taken way too early.

That team is pretty solid but I think you should drop Kleinsasser and pick up Stevens (Seahawks) or Pollard (Lions) if they are available. Stevens could be a sleeper TE like Gates last year.

Why do you want to trade for the Jets defense? You have Carolina which will be a Top 3 defense.

Your team is decent except for Koren Robinson(suspended), Cedric Benson(holdout still), and Samie Parker(don't really know what to expect of him)

Here's the team I just drafted on my CBS Sportsline $40 league. 12 team league...

QBs: Favre, Pennington
RBs: Alexander, Kevin Jones, Cadillac Williams
WRs: Drew Bennett, L. Coles, Stokley, I. Bruce
TEs: Tony G, Wiggins
K: Shayne Graham
D/ST: Jacksonville, NYG

I was hoping to get an RB (had a specific one in mind) instead of the second defense... but Sportsline doesn't allow it.

Good Luck though!

Yeah, I picked my D and kickers with the last three picks (Dallas has been one I've picked up in other drafts). My strategy is usually go for the average WRs rather than wasting early picks on them - the marginal difference between an average and great WR really isn't that great in FF - especially when receptions aren't point producing stats.

some of these teams are down right unfair.... I'm assuming that all of these teams are for a twelve team league? How do you get Priest (By most accounts, #2 or #3) and have Edge fall that late into the second round? I need to join your league..... To also get Farve and Collins (both solid late second early third rounders) in the same draft? You wouldn't be picking them back to back...... I've got to question if you're playing with a bunch of complete idiots.

I had the number one pick in my 12 team league (snake draft). I tried to trade out, nobody was interested. In our league, passing touchdowns are worth 6 points, not 3-4 like other leagues. Peyton was the hands down number one pick. My team got pretty ugly after that with everyone taking 2 RB's a piece. So - my team is as follows:

QB - Peyton, Bledsoe (week 8 Bledsoe has Arizona)
RB - Fraud Taylor, C Brown, T Henry, Mike Anderson, W Dunn
WR - TO, L Coles, M Robinson, K Johnson
TE - Shockey, E Johnson
K - Vandy
D - Broncos, Cheifs

When I picked Peyton #1, the rb's on the board were Fraud Taylor, and a bunch of crap. I took Brown and Henry hoping to get one good back, they both fell to me in the 5th-6th. Mike Anderson is a gamble, but I always take a risk on a Bronco back (Tatum Bell is now 2nd team, and Mike looks great says camp reports). It paid off for me last year with Griffin, who came out on fire. I traded him for Rudi Johnson after week one.

coz

Also, some advice on a trade scenario I'm considering...

Ahman Green and Drew Bennet

Fraud Taylor and TO

would you do it if you were as thin as me at rb?

I would look for a trade to pick up a solid WR and a QB. The only way I see you doing well in an 8 team league is to trade Priest for a TO/Farve/Risky RB like combination. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it is my opinion. Perhaps then you can take a chance on a Cadillac, Ced, or even Mike Anderson and hope things work out.

I don't see that team making the playoffs in an 8 team league. Of course my team mentioned previously isn't much better......

For my team I took Priest Holmes, Deuce McAllister & Julius Jones, 1, 2, 3 because the most important spot on a Fantasy Team is the RB well besides the QB but the RB can win it for you more than the QB.

I'm thinking that the trophy for that league is yours. I don't think you even need to make any waiver picks. You "should" (you never know with NFL) pound the other teams into submission each and every week.

BTW: I also love dre johnson and nate burleson as your WR's. both should give you 8-12 points every week consistently, and that's all you can ask.

Yeah and Jerry Porter is a sleeper because while people are on Moss, Porter is getting touches and tds.

coz
08-29-2005, 02:40 PM
not sold on porter above those other two. there is only one football in oakland.... i've also suffered through owning porter. he is inconsistent as hell, and quite frustrating to start weekly. i would start him on matchups alone. the other two guys can be trusted to produce weekly. IMO - you just need to hold your own at WR, your RB's should do the heavy lifting. You may not be able to afford one of porter's famous 4 game stretches of 0 points though.
