We know the Pelicans have a shitty organization, an awful HC..and Perimeter guys who think they are as good as davis.

Experts?

There is no scenario where the Spurs get Anthony Davis.

Hold his family for ransom?

He's Tim Duncan reincarnated tbh. I don't know if the Pelicans can hold on to him and if he likes the bright lights, he'll be a Laker.

I really hope we don't get him just for the sake of you not creating threads about his minutes/running plays for him/any other faggotry you can come up with

For Mr. Davis, the bright lights don't like him. He be tore up ugly. Not his fault, and he can play....

His style is more KG than Duncan, disrupting things outside the paint and shooting over the top

He's going to suffer from major injuries starting next season and will never be the same.

Keep being an elite team till he becomes a free agent, have enough cap space to offer a max deal and hope that he isn't a big market attention whore.

I've asked this question before a few times - Does he have a low post game or any go to moves in the post? What's he like in the last 6 minutes of a game/crunch time?

For this to happen we will probably need your favourite player to come back down to Earth regarding his contract expectations, tbh.

Hold his family for ransom?

Pelicans would convince him that family is not that important.

About the same chance other teams had of getting Tim Duncan early in his career. So, almost zero.

Less. Duncan was an UFA. Davis won't get there for at least 5 more seasons when Parker is Manu's age.

0% chance he is ever a Spur. Likely a Laker if he ever leaves tbh.

Well, that Shit' s worked for Bonner, who's bound and gagged Pop's family for 8 years and counting.

He is legit, should work on his defense though

Or he'll join LeBron to another rent a champ team within three years.

^ This.

But also, in the unlikely event that he takes his QO in order to become a UFA in the summer of 2017 coinciding with the big cap rise. His QO is north of 9 mil so it's not like he'll be taking an unimaginable risk/paycut.

Does Bonner for Davis work? just kidding. Never say never, but it's slim. It all depends though on the Pelicans franchise and if they convince him to remain loyal and play his whole NBA career with that team. Also I don't think Pop wants to coach in his late 70's, it would take Pop being coach to even probably get him.

Only way of getting him is that HE decides he doesnt want to play for NO anymore...thats on top of MAX contract.

That's my dream, he would be perfect for post Duncan, but I think he won't come ..

Unfortunately 0 scenario for that to happen

Funny to see btw that A. Davis has more or less sam kind of stat than Tim as the same age... After Robinson and Duncan... that would have been a dream to get him

There was some thought that he might accept his year 5 QO, roughly $9M as a #1 overall pick, and be unrestricted when the new TV money hits the cap in 2017.

If there's no cap smoothing mechanism and the 2017 cap rises dramatically, he'd be smart to do it. Of course there's the risk he might suffer a career ending injury in 2016/2017, but the financial incentives of being a top FA in the summer of 2017 are amazing.

He seems like a level headed Kid and I would love to see the Spurs make a run at him when he becomes a free agent. Depends on what he wants a guess, the glamour or the winning heritage.

It will never happen, but if it did in a trade, we would have to give up Kawhi plus more.

It would be funny if Kawhi and Jimmer were on the same team.

Well the chances aren't zero. The Spurs will have to wait 5 more years though since the Pelicans will likely extend Davis the max without question. After that, Davis does become a free agent and if the Pelicans continue to suck, all of a sudden, he will be in play.

Got to stick Leonard on the national team and try to get him to be buddies with Davis. That's probably the only chance, luring him with Leonard, a good coach replacement after Pop, Pop still staying on as the president of Spurs basketball, and Duncan hanging around mentoring players. Just have to fill the team with good talent and have the cap space to offer Davis the max when he hits the free agent market.

It would be so easy. First we trade Ayers, Bonner and Joseph to Cleveland for James. Then we trade James to N.O. for Davis.

The only problem I see is convincing Pop to trade Bonner.
