Said it before the season. I was told I was crazy. Can't expect too much, old, two major injuries, blah, blah, 22 ppg if lucky.

Now 27/6/3.

Still doesn't have his legs back, very close to being everything he was before everything happened.

Kobe Bryant, where amazing happens.

I understand this team is in tank mode, so Kobe volume shooting to keep the season ticket holders and Time Warner happy is the best way to have your cake (high pick) and eat it too (ratings), but if this team has any ambition to play good basketball, Kobe shooting 25 times a game isn't the formula.

This team isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Jordan Hill is proving to be a surprise along with Ed Davis. Lin is serviceable. And our wings are young and athletic. If this team wants to compete (which they don't), the formula was written in the Charlotte game. 5 players in double figures, 28 total team assists.

The play that was backhandedly "criticized" tonight (Jordan Hill's open jumper that if made would've cut it to 1) is how this team should operate. Kobe-isos is losing basketball.

On 39% shooting/24 shots a game. Terrible, terrible efficiency.

Not winning basketball in this universe or any other.

This KobeBrown guy has his dick so deep in Kobe's ass, he wouldn't even change his opinion if Kobe needs 50 shots and 40 mpg to average 27.

Kirb's per-36 numbers, other than FG%, aren't that much off his career averages. All this season is exposing is that he can't, and has never been able to, carry a team. He's always been 2nd fiddle, and without a dominant big you end up with what you see in the standings.

No basketball team is ever as bad as you think they'll be on paper when you're talking about unknown players, they are NBA players after all. the W/L column is the measuring stick though, not how many points are scored.

Kobe's been horrible but he's not the only one shooting that bad. Harden is also at 39% followed by Melo at 41%. Considering the amount of shots he take, coming back from a career ending injury and a one year layoff from basketball, I'm actually surprised he's at 39% until someone brought it up. I honestly thought he was at low 30's in percentage.

Thing with Harden is that he goes like 4-10 but also 14-16 from the line. He's missing around 10 shots per game, whereas Kobe is missing 15 shots per game, meaning the latter is potentially giving the opposition 5 more fast break opportunities each game.

Yeah, I know it's more than just percentage, because Kobe's been playing horrible, horrible basketball, just shocked he's at 39%. He seems like he's shooting worse than that.

It's not just the 39%... he's shooting a dismal 29% from 3, and his attempts per game from downtown are career top 3 for him... he's chucking 3 pointers at an alarming rate and clanking them badly...

Yup^

Kobe is shooting a horrific TS of 43%

Not only did he broke the record for most misses but he could very well have the worst TS% in league history (average of at least 15 FPA) in a season.

so far Kobe's missing more shots per minute than any player in NBA history. http://t.co/8rNv6yD6bv [in] http://t.co/NKlkD3qrS1

NBA Finals:

MJ, 35 games, 34ppg average on 48% - 473 misses

Kobe, 38 games, 25ppg (9 less ppg LOL) on 41%, 475 misses.

The Lakers will be playing a significant number of junk minutes, they already have.
Kirby will have a chance to get above 39% and keep his scoring well above 20 PPg.
So lakerfan is content.

I don't see a lot of sitting during blowouts to let some promising SG have minutes. The future for the Lakers is now. And it consists entirely on Kobestats. So he passed an ugly stat, he will break some more palatable #'s as well and lakerfan will live on those.
