Cosby is halfway underground, he'll probably be dead within ten years. He's 77 if I'm not mistaken. He's not even relevant anymore, he has recently gotten back into standup over the past year or so but nobody really gives a fuck. I saw a special of his on Comedy Central a few months back, it was OK. So, as far as PR is concerned, I don't think it even matters because his career is pretty much over.
