dallas just lost their backup center and we happen to have a pretty decent backup center in rasho and cuban has no qualms about overspending plus marquis daniels apparently got on avery's bad side so why not trade? well, it's called a pipe dream for a reason, i guess. :depressed

True. They have Dampier, Diop, Ilunga-Mbenga, Podkolzin and maybe more that can play center. They don't need a center from the Spurs.

So they waive finley, then they're gonna trade Marquis Daniels for another center?

AJ was on local radio here last week and chasitized those who claimed that Daniels "is not an Avery guy". He discounted any perceptions that this kid "got on his bad side" and confirmed that he will be part of their team. Besides, with Finley gone this opens up more minutes for Daniels, Devin Harris, Stackhouse and Christie.

With Finley gone, Daniels will see some major playing time this comming season. Also, earlier this summer, Cuban and the Mavs reportedly turned down an offer from the Spurs that reportedly was Rasho for Tariq Abdul-Wahad. Now if the Mavs don't want Rasho for Wahad then I'm pretty sure they won't accept a trade for Daniels.

And the Mavs don't need any more centers on their roster. Like Kori pointed out they have enough.

Yes we have tons of center, but only ONE can actually play and that's Dampier. Diop is an unknown commodity right now, so is Mbenga, and my ballhandling is better than any talent Pavel has.

No thanks to Rasho though, especially for Daniels. Like that other guy said: if we didn't trade him for TAW, what more for a potential marquee SG?
