If I want sugary liquor I will get some schnapps. Crown Royal was distilled with a girl in mind and made sweet. This particular blend sounds like a shitty apple armagnac.

TBH I've not tried any of the Van Winkle line because I've never seen it for retail and I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to some faggot third party that bought it and trippled the price to make a buck. I've had plenty of Weller though. Weller 12 used to be my go to wheater before it disappeared off shelves. That stuff is $20 a bottle. Pappy is made from the exact same whiskey. Now I don't doubt that special barrel selection and more age makes a difference, but is it worth that much more?

Pappy has this following because it has been reviewed favorably by the "right" people and it's hard to find. There's plenty of readily available bourbons with a much nicer price tag. Let the snobs fight over the Pappy.

Evan Williams bottled in bond (white label) is a damn fine drink for it's price, around 12 bucks around here. The green label is 80 proof iirc... not worth anything except for mixing.

I've had an occasional lambic, again not a big fan of cherries or other berries, so it was most likely pomme. Lambics are fruity enough but I like a bit more carbonation, I tend to prefer a hard cider for less sweet fruit and much more fizz.

Framboise is sneaky. You might see fruit beer and wave it off but some range from 10% to 13% and can mask its potency with the fruit taste. I like the iambics and the English version of the Framboise just as much as the Belgian version. Also, you can entice the ladies to drink those and they'll loosen up faster in conversation.

Anyone know? Quick searched lead me to believe the unaged was both released and discontinued in 2013. I wonder if there is a batch 002.

Anyway, I bought the only two on the shelf, and going to another store. I came back home to search which stores still had some in stock. For now, I'm only going to buy another two then I'll have five. I'll open one, and let the other four sit for possible future profit.

I actually visited the distillery this summer. Tour guide said the unaged is their new rye mash bill. Since it will still be a few more years before their fully aged rye is released, they chose to do limited releases of the rye in it's "unaged" and "rested" state.

Yes, from what I gathered, it is the only batch ever made, and some say planned as such. All of the current "rested" are batch 002. However, I was also told only batch 002 will be in the same bottles as 001. The later batched will be in the traditional bottles like #7 is.

Any idea what these bottles may be worth in the future?

Damn Wild Cobra with tha goods! Btw if u drink alot, be sure to include alot of coffee in your diet. Its protects ur liver from the harmfull effects acohol has on it. Dontbelieve me? Google that shit

I drink a lot of coffee, but very little alcohol. I just like to have it when I'm in the mood. The Gentleman Jack, Aberlour, and Hennesy Priveledge VSOP are at about the same level as the that picture weeks back. The Captain Morgan's Reserve has dropped the most since sometimes I will put a shot of that and a little Baily's in my coffee. The 1910 in the back left has been opened and tasted, and the only one showing a drop between the two pictures.

It's totally worth it. Blue is very very good.
Well, I had a shot of Johnie Walker for the first time ever last week, and it was the Black. I was impressed, and will at least pick up one of them. I might get a Blue, but more likely to pick hard to find items up when available. I have a decent collection now, and have other things to throw my extra money at. I didn't know when I bough the Parker's (post 65) that their Heritage Collection has a very limited availability, once a year. I should have bought two bottles, because now they aren't locally available.

There are many bourbons I enjoy, Old Grand Dad 114 is my current favorite. Stuff is full flavored and surprisingly smooth for its proof. It's reasonably priced too. If I'm out though I usually will just order a Makers neat, unless the place actually has a decent whiskey selection.
I opened the 114 this morning after work with my neighbor who also works graveyard. I agree, it is good for the proof!

I also opened the Batch 002 "rested" rye whiskey. Both the unaged and rested are pretty damn good. I definitely need to get some of this new line when it's available.

Jack Daniels upcoming Rye Whiskey made from 70% Rye, 18% Corn, and 12% Barley:

Rested:

Have and have tasted both, the "rested" is 2 years old. Wonder what the final product will be like at 4+ years!

I didn't have any Tequila in my collection, so I bought this one today, which was suggested by a friend. Pretty smooth!

If you're going to do your liver in, don't do it with the cheap stuff. Spend a little more:

Picked up a bottle after seeing your post. I can't stand it, the apple flavor makes me gag. My wife loves it though, on her third bottle already.

You don't refrigerate your Baileys? I do.

Never had any go bad. It's not refrigerated in the liquor stores. I don't want to cool down my 1 jigger spiced rum, 1/2 shot of Irish cream, topped of with coffee...

It's already too cool with these at room temperature!

Sorry to hear that. The Gentleman Jack is pretty smooth, the standard 80 proof, and doesn't bite too much. That and the 1792 are my two favorites right now. The 1792 is smooth at 93.7 proof.

Wow...

I have a definitive favorite. I bought the Elijah Craig Small Batch 12 yr today. At 94 proof, it is very, very smooth, and was only $27.95 for 750 mL.

My asian friend from SD is not a drinker and he also very very rarely has taken shots in his life. Almost always fruity shots

I also did not take shots for a 2 year period when I was 20. A weird mental block. Then a weekend in Santa Barbara with quality Whiskey ended that.

I drink less frequently now: 2-3 times a month so when I do it's to get wasted. Taking shots of alcohol is the closest feeling to the adrenaline I got from yayo/E. No matter whether I only drink beer, drinks, wine; I will end up groggy after an hour+ so I might as well get the high feeling of straight alcohol while I'm at it.

My drink of choice at Bars is gin + tonic w/lime. Bartenders almost always hook it up when u order Gin. Shots of tequila and whiskey.

Not going to bother.

I simply took two pictures from my camera, used the stretch option at 20% for both axis on both pictures, doubled the width of one pic in attributes, then copied the other in. I then took two cropped images and added them, and drew in the oval and line. The two cropped images was another resized on the back label, and one from Oregon's OLCC web site:

http://www.oregonliquorsearch.com/product_details.jsp?productRowNum=3&rowCount=4&column=City&pageCurrent=1&pageCount=1&itemCode=2651B&itemDisplay=2651B

Pretty simple stuff.
