It's easy to coach.

If the one doing it, has good handles, it's less turnover prone

Having a system is hard since you need a lot of years to really find the least bit of perfection, ala Pop and the dark ages when Duncan was finally declining.

With team turnover rate being so high in most cities, finding chemistry on the court is rare but finding a star name to play iso ball and 4 guys to rebound is a ticket selling strategy that's proven to be effective.

No. I never cite that when the "Bend over" is employed. It's general jocularity is abundant & joyous, like your mother's coochie.

1. Blame Jordan for glorifying the individual. He made iso ball look cool and brought the NBA away from team basketball the Lakers and Celtics showed in the 80s.

2. Requires commitment from all players on the team. Teams are constantly shuffling these days with impatient executives. Hard to play team ball when players are being shipped out and coaches are being fired.

3. More plays = more time needed to remember and practice. Iso ball is just more time efficient and convenient.

4. Execution of team ball requires all 5 players on the court to not make any mistakes. Hard to string together 5 players who can make the right pass, cut, and screen. It's just easier to go one on one when you have a superstar because there will be less mistakes.

5. Less tiring for the superstars. Why have Lebron run through a circuit of screens before catching the ball when he can just easily blow past his defender in a straight drive to the basket off a single screen?

Jordan was most certainly not the first iso player though. It's jew stern and the media that decided his style of play sold merch

1) Rules promote it (hand check, foul priority for perimeter players, etc)
2) Average NBA defense is terrible, why bother with anything more complex
3) Heroball has better marketing

And frankly it was pure that way. The lines were long and straight, the view unobstructed, like professional rasslin':::you knew exactly what you were going to get each night, each game. Nothing wrong with that. White Chocolate was going to dribble down the left side, dump it into Webber, then walk away and let him work. Now, it's a hodge podge of shit, working 5 asses off to get an semi open 24 foot shot.
