Huge JP fan, I thought it was a joke when I read the idea that this movie was about trained velociraptors fighting a new mutated dinosaur. Its so awkward to watch that trailer, hope the film worksout somehow

Yeah, this kitchen sequence in the original movie is just perfect suspense cinema. The movie as a whole has aged really well, in my opinion. I never was that big a fan of the two sequels, though.
As for Jurassic World, I don't know. The trailer is nothing special, but that doesn't have to mean much. I rather doubt the movie will be working out, though.

The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 were horrible. The Lost World was still fun action but as a whole it was a huge let down and I was surprised Spielberg was shit since he directed it. JP3 was an EPIC failure. It was so bad it shut the franchise down nearly for good.
Interesting fact: Jurassic World was canceled 2-3 times during production and considered left for dead until about a year ago when shooting began. The film finished super fast thanks to CGI...I fuckin hate CGI but it will be much better by the time the final product comes out

Without giving too much away, all I can say is they let the dinosaurs escape and cause havoc way too quickly. We barely even saw any of the remodeled park and attractions. If you're into special effects, graphics and all that; if you just like seeing dinosaurs cause havoc, go for it or maybe if you're going on a night out with the wife and kids but I don't recommend it otherwise.
It's a good summer flick. They did the best they could with what they to clean up from the two sequels.

Jurrasic World fucking sucked. There were so many things wrong with this movie. Don’t even know where to begin. This is BY FAR the worst Jurrasic Park film yet. The 3rd one, which sucked DICK, blows this one out of the fucking water.
1 – The story sucked. Basically - a mutant T-Rex escapes and causes destruction. It chases two kids around the park and kills other dinosaurs/military guys trying to stop it. It’s 1 dinosaur, and it’s not even that smart, not scary-looking, and just doesn’t do well carrying the movie by itself at all.
2 – The characters were boring and they had some of the cheesiest lines ever. Seriously, two little kids, Chris Pratt, and a woman in a dress is what you’ve got here. And the only one who even has a pulse is Chris Pratt, and it’s a small one at that. I wanted the kids to die so bad halfway through the movie that it hurt.
3 – Trained Veliciraptors? How fucking stupid. It destroyed their mystique entirely. Seriously, the raptors are the good guys in this movie. Can you imagine?
4 – It felt like I was watching the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th transformers movies halfway through when the dinosaurs got loose. Dinosaurs fighting dinosaurs and killing people (and remember this shit is PG13, there’s not 1 ‘cool’ death in the movie) just mindless action. The last sequence, a raptor and the real T-rex fighting the mutant T-rex, was so cheesy that I nearly walked out of the theatre it was so bad. And yes, some jackasses in the theatre actually clapped when the raptor and T-rex were ultimately victorious. Little kids probably.
Conclusion – This movie doesn’t make you give a DAMN about any of the characters or any of the dinosaurs. There’s no intrigue. The story sucks. It’s a popcorn, brainless action movie that hurts the legacy of Jurassic Park. If you’re 12 years old or younger you might enjoy it. Otherwise, be prepared to be disappointed. That said, I know everyone will go see it. You have to, it’s Jurassic Park. But I’d give it a 3/10 on my scale and I feel that’s being generous.

Yeah, I noticed half the audience also clapped at the end of my showing. I suppose this will get mixed reviews. Not a great movie imo if for no other reason than that they jumped into the plot way too quickly and as you noted there were no memorable characters.

FYI, if some of you are going off a review from a user who has one post and says it's worse than JP3, you should probably kill yourself. All 4 of his points make about as much sense as Pop playing Tony big minutes in the playoffs this year.

.....uh, they didn't escape until at least 30 mins, maybe 45 mins into the movie. Would you rather the movie be about margaritaville, the hilton hotel, and what goes on in the control room for 1 1/2 hours then maybe 20 mins of dinosaurs then the ending? We see enough of the remodeled park and attractions. They showed the mosasaurus bit, the gyrosphere, the Rex viewing area, etc etc etc. What more did you want? What the inside of one of the gift shops looked like? This is a movie about dinosaurs, what the fuck were you expecting?

In the original, it didn't seem like the animals started to escape until at least an hour in and in the meantime there was an explanation of how the how park and the animals were conceived. In the Lost World, the San Diego Incident didn't take place until almost 2 hours in (or at least it seemed) and mass casualties didn't take place for a slightly shorter time before. In the latest installment, it only took about 30 minutes for there to be deaths due to dinosaurs and for one to escape. They could have focused more on the redesigned park and fill us in on how John Hammond's dream was finally realized after all of the bad publicity and trouble previously.
Long story short, we've already seen dinosaurs wreak havoc uncontrollably and eat humans and dinosaurs alike in all of the previous installments, show us more of something we haven't seen before. Like I said, more of it.

So you wanted it to be all about the park instead of the dinosaurs? That movie would fucking suck.
Took my kids to see it yesterday. Super cheesy movie, as expected. Kids enjoyed it, tho.
The Jurassic Park movies are supposed to be like B movies, as Spielberg intended. Cheesy moments, over the top, not super serious all the time, etc. People seem to forget this and go in wanting to see Schindler's List. Especially that chumper guy.

No but they could have focused more on the park and filled in the details on what had happened in the preceding years and how Jurassic Park/World had become operational after all the bad publicity and the failed launch before the inevitable and expected dino rampage (or perhaps some of it could have happened simultaneously).

This movie was thoroughly enjoyable. I Iike the respects they paid to the original throughout. I plan on seeing it this week or next week. I'll try out that Jurassic Park blizzard in the interim. Part 3 is better than part 2 imo. Joe Johnston is an underrated director and part 2 lost me with the negrita gymnastics and the t-Rex running around San Diego.
apparently Bryce Howard's character is pinned down by a raptor who then eats her pussy out as Pratt is powerless to stop it. So I look forward to that.

:lol the coon hitches a ride in that RV and ransacks the place while they're out, eating all the food and basically ruining the rv, then makes white america clean up her mess. :lmao too bad the Rex didn't eat her chimp ass; though who knows what the effects of AIDS would do to a dinosaur.

AIDS is what killed off the dinos. They were a God fearing species until the LGBT subset forced them to all start buttfucking one another.

I honestly would have been much happier with a prequel than the movie that was released, granted the actor who portrayed John Hammond passed away within the past couple of years. Show how the park was developed, what inspired Hammond to build it, why he selected Off-Shore Costa Rica, some detail in the cloning process, etc...
But it's Hollywood. I can't blame them if they can make back 200% of their investment and counting by making a cheap summer blockbuster popcorn flick (granted, it's better than what I could do, easy for me to criticize sitting here) that was edited and resurrected from development hell that more or less repeats many of the same aspects of the previous movies. That as opposed to something that is totally new to how we know the Jurassic Park universe.

That's exactly what this movie is. A cheap summer blockbuster popcorn flick. And it's so disappointing because the first, and even the second Jurassic Park movie, were so much more than that.
If you like this movie then you probably like the 2nd 3rd and 4th transformers movies. It has the same brainless action, cheesy lines, characters, and story. The 70% this movie got on RT is absolutely amazing to me...it shows just how much people love Jurassic Park. Heck, I do too, I read the first and 2nd books by Crichton and absolutely LOVED the 1st and 2nd Jurassic Park movies (the 3rd one was....ehhh) but this one was just horrible. It didn't even feel like Jurassic Park...it just stole the music.
If Crichton was still alive I wonder if he would have let this happen... Probably couldn't have prevented it but maybe it would have been better. It certainly couldn't have been any worse.

The problem is that the script and concept has gone through so many changes that it developed into exactly what we're talking about. It's cool to see if you're just bored, wanna take your family or spouse out, especially if you have kids but I don't think it's a great movie although half the audience did, so maybe I'm just in the minority. I think they originally were going to have a movie where the world at large had to deal with feral dinosaurs but it got caught in production hell and thus made numerous changes.
As I said in another post, a prequel would have been better than what appeared to me as not much more than a summer box office cash in based on the movie's name. I can't blame them either, JP is hardly the only franchise to do this.
It's not a bad movie but is, imo, overhyped by some.

my favorite film of the series tbh.. although the corny dialogue at the end was terrible. they had their chance to have a memorable one liner and they completely botched it.
i also thought the :cry brother moment :cry in the truck at the end was a little too much. they did the same thing like 4 times throughout, we got the point. but i guess they had to do something for the kids
i dont have the numbers yet to back it up, but i'm pretty sure it had the most screen time for dinosaurs of all the movies so far. i know jurassic park only had 14 minutes. the last fight scene was pretty epic... all they were missing was king kong tbh :lol

We're in a thread discussing something that recently hit pop culture. Some will like, some won't like. So far, I've lost zero sleep over this not being the best movie ever made, how about you?
As for his comment, it's not the dino being bad, it's that too much was focused on the dino's rampage. As I've said a billion times already, I'd have preferred seeing more of something I haven't seen before as opposed to another powerful dinosaur on the loose with predictable events happening.

I'm pretty sure I expected to see raptors and giant dinosaurs on the loose. But they could have provided more of a plot and story than yet another installment where a giant dino is on the loose and he is inevitably defeated in the end. They could have at least provided a surprise tragedy where one of the main protagonists gets eaten/killed or something like that.
Anyways, again I don't mean to sound like I'm harping, it was a good movie overall but not an all-time classic.
