Mavs, Spurs, Rockets, and Pelicans to the East.

Bulls, Pacers, Bucks, and Pistons to the West.

Thoughts?

How would that change anything?

You cant just swap teams from each conference and hope it will get better.

Honestly, what's the point of that?

Those teams transfered to the west will simply continue to suck there.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, that Cuban would propose something that benefits his team.

That's the point... he wants increased conference parity. That's it.

Has Cuban ever seen a fucking map?

You ever seen the inside of an airplane? Location isn't a problem in 2014...

I'd rather them keep the East/West names vs going to something stupid like Legends/Leaders like the Big 10.

NBA doesn't need realignment.

As a Spurs fan I'd be interested in moving to the East, but as an NBA fan I don't think it works as a long term solution.

And how would the schedule look like ? 58 games ? 116 games ?

My proposal would be:
Get the Sonics back. Put OKC on the southwest division while shipping the Pelicans to the east.
New Franchise in St Louis as part of the western conference.

Eh, there's a lot of reasons why that wouldn't make much sense. Chief among them is that Memphis would be the team to move and that the divisions would be unnecessarily uneven. If the league added two teams, a 4 x 4 x 2 NFL style system would make the most sense.

There's no particular reason why the West is better than the East. It'll even back out eventually.

The best team always wins in the NBA, excluding injury reasons, tbh..it isn't the NFL or MLB..

The route to the Finals doesn't play a part in the outcome, as we saw last season..

I'm all for realignment. Spurs used to be in the eastern conference.

Some of these alignments are very arbitrary.

Switch those teams as cuban said or just make a single playoff bracket, 1-16. But I think in that scenario, you'd want the distribution of games to be more even.

At this point, it would make sense for everyone to just play the same opponents roughly the same amount of times... it's more fair, and most of the big rivalries aren't even regionally based anyway. Then, the top 16 teams make the playoffs.

It is pretty fundamentally unfair that Phoenix played a harder schedule than Atlanta last season and finished the year with 10 more wins, but still didn't make the playoffs while Atlanta did. It doesn't make sense.

I believe it makes the most sense to just let the top sixteen teams into the playoffs despite conference. I don't see a big issue when it comes to seeding but eastern conference teams would. What seed would the western conference team receive?

If this change were to happen, the Tims would have finally seen some post season time with Kevin Love. Too late now. The Eastern Conference is full of incompetent owners, players. and/or just rotting organizations.

DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/dal/dallas-mavericks) owner Mark Cuban took a subtle shot at New York Knicks (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/ny/new-york-knicks) coachDerek Fisher (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/246/derek-fisher) before Wednesday’s game.

Cuban was asked if he was concerned about Fisher’s commitment to the struggling Knicks, who have dropped 10 of 12.

“I’m more concerned with his health and welfare. I know how hard it is for him to fly and travel and be away,” Cuban said sarcastically.

Clippers already own it. That was their goal. That & obeying Silver/Media's dictate to lynch Sterling.
