As reported by Pop on the Pop Show, here are some small bios on Mike Wells and Dell Demps. Pop said he knew Mike from past USA Basketball duties. Dell, of course, spent some time as a Spur as a hard-nosed, blue-collar player.

Mike Wells enters his seventh season with the Houston Rockets and his second as a bench assistant on Rudy Tomjanovich's coaching staff.

Wells joined the basketball staff in October 1995 as the assistant video coordinator after serving an internship in the Rockets corporate services department during the 1994-95 season. He was appointed the video coordinator during the 1996 offseason, and prior to the 1998-99 season, Wells was promoted to video coordinator/assistant coach.

His responsibilities include computerized video editing, scouting of opponents, game preparation and aiding in the review of free agent talent. Wells also assists with Rockets practices and individual player workouts.

Wells spent the summer of 2000 traveling with the United States Senior National Team which played in the Olympics. He assisted U.S. Head Coach Rudy Tomjanovich with video and scouting work for the U.S. Team, which made stops in Hawaii, Japan, Melbourne, Australia and, finally, at the Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Well has spent the last three summers with USA Basketball, assisting at the 1998 World Championship of Basketball in Athens, Greece and the 1999 Tournament of the Americas in Puerto Rico.

Wells is a 1993 graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene in Ohio where he played guard for the Cougars for two seasons. Upon graduation, Wells stayed at M.V.N.C. and served as an assistant coach for two seasons while earning a master's degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala.

A native of Mount Vernon, OH, Wells is single and resides in Houston.

Dell is in his fourth season on the Knicks’ staff, and was promoted to his new role in May after serving as a scout for the past three seasons... joined the organization just prior to 2003-04 training camp... Prior to his arrival, the 36-year-old Demps was an assistant coach under Sam Vincent with the Mobile Revelers of the NBDL... Played three NBA seasons, averaging 3.0 points in 20 contests with Golden State (1993-94), San Antonio (1995-96) and Orlando (1996-97)...Also had playing stints in the CBA (member of the 1995 CBA Champion Yakima Sun Kings), Greece, France and Croatia.... Averaged 15.1 points in four-year college career at the University of the Pacific... As a senior, averaged 19.0 points and 5.8 rebounds and was named 1992 Big West Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year and an Academic All-American Finalist... Native of Long Beach, CA.

Dell Demps was one of my favorite players when he was here :tu

He also was credited for "finding" Jackie Butler last season. Although, taking someone from the Knicks' front office is pretty risky :lol
