Just thought id share a mildly interesting story I witnessed about an hour ago.

So some dude was getting arrested on campus I guess. There was a squad car parked and the cop was just talking to the dude. A couple of other squad cars pull up and they cuff the guy. 4 cops in all. There was no resistance, they didn't put him on the ground, didn't punch/kick him or anything. They just leaned him over the hood and cuffed him. The guy wasn't yelling, struggling anything.

Typically when this stuff happens on campus everyone in the area stops and watches. I just laughed and told the dude next to me "well I haven't seen one of these in awhile." The guy isn't laughing, just says "that's excessive, don't you think? FOUR of them?" I just say not really, they didn't harm anyone, they just cuffed him. Now if they were all beating/kicking him id agree. So the faggot turns and says "the fuck? You have really high standards for excessive. Where u from, Syria?" And he just walked away. I start laughing, could have just dropped it but being the Philo I am, I shout "how the hell it excessive if there was no force?" Douche shouts back "yeah bro just always trust the police. Nice."

I'm going to apply early for the Physical Therapy program at UNC Spring semester (changed my mind on law) and I am required to take a shit ton of exams in order to have a chance of getting in.

One of them are the GRE. I see a bunch of practice exams online, they all seem to be outdated or redundant. One of my friends that took the exam said that the practice exams were inaccurate and out of nowhere.

What can I expect on this? Calculus/statistics and writing are the two main portions from what I've gathered. Any help is appreciated.

So the great thing about TX is, we have the cheapest Med Schools in the country, 15-17K/yr (state contributes a lot of the tuition), but even then its about 40K/yr in student loans if you want to be able to do it..because truth is that its more than a full time job you don't get paid for. Then after going through some of the most competitive exams, gunner classmates, you might get your residency position thinking you're on top of the world. What you don't realize is, you're getting paid 38K~ while working close to 100 hrs/wk :lol . It also sucks that residency spots haven't increased along with the demand for physician. IMGs will probably suffer the most tbh, but it still doesn't bode well for most of the competitive fields.

Not my place, but why GP then? Debt, amongs social hierarchy is the reason people avoid it.

I'm sure besteva realizes this now, but it doesn't matter where you goto med school, unless you're talking about a shithole program thats been on probation etc in the past. The great thing about the boards are, they normalize scores and whatnot, with step-1 contributing about 80% to what you will be able to do. That being said, I don't endorse the whole wave of DOs. For-profit schools popping up around the country taking students that couldn't get into an M.D school and offering a standard of education that isn't as tightly regulated as the LCME. Thats pretty much where I draw the line.

Besides, I don't think Osteopathic manipulative medicine has any scientific basis whatsoever.
