That might have been the most open interview he's done in a while.

"It's of major importance, so Timmy doesn't have to get too many minutes," Popovich said. "I don't know about Tiago's situation. We're very confused by it, but Baynsie is saving us."

Is there another video where he says this? Any Tiago insight is worth noting.

He said that after the game. They showed the interview on the local broadcast.

Doesn't sound like Pop has much confidence in Tiago at this point.

I really don't know if Splitter's injury is that serious or if the guy is a pussy.

I mean, has Splitter ever played with pain? To me, over the years with the Spurs, it sounds like if he feels any pain at all, he just can't/won't play. That's the impression that I get from him. I'd like to know if I am wrong about that?

Does he ever play through pain or injuries, or has he always sat out anytime he feels a slightest bit of pain? I really would like to know if anyone recalls him playing through anything, because for some reason I'm not remembering any times that he has.

As for his current condition, can it get worse if he plays?

I hate to say it but I don't think any of us do honestly. He is a walking injury. He is near D ROSE status right about now :(

When will Manu just flip out? Every time someone praises Spurs, Pop just answers "Oh we just drafted Duncan and tried not to screw it up" Duncan this, Duncan that.. Never mentions Manu

Meanwhile, when someone asks about Manu he just jokes around about him trying to make homerun plays, and him being erratic, crazy, like he's some joke

Meanwhile Manu was much more important in the last 3 titles than Duncan

and Manu can't even play in the WC and is treated like shit? Manu is like top5 best humans on the planet, any other person would just tell Pop and front office to fuck off.

MEANWHILE, DUNCAN 15% ON POST UPS THIS SEASON. OH, BUT WE HAVE TO DO THE 4 DOWN PLAY SO DUNCAN FEELS YOUNG.

Cause Duncan's the foundation of everything the spurs have built. It starts with him, being one of the most selfless players of all time, and every player that came after followed his example

I strongly disagree with your entire post and especially with your opinion that Manu was much more important than Duncan in the last three titles than Duncan. As the previous poster said, Duncan is the foundation of everything the Spurs do. If Pop believes this why won't you take his word for it? Shouldn't he of all people know - after all, he's only been coaching the Spurs for what 18 years?

Manu shows flashes of brilliance sometimes, but is too inconsistent. His limited playing time (even when he was young) and often injuries prevent him from being a franchise type player.

Spurs could easily find another player with Manu`s impact. Duncan is just one per generation.

Shittiest take I've read on here in awhile.

Dude got 7.5 million a season when no one else in the league would have given him that after he single-handedly coughed up the title to Miami in 2013. STFU with this no respect bullshit
