Kawhi was the #1 guy today, and we almost lost to the Sixers...

When is Parker back again?

The team was missing both their Hof big man and MVP playmaker. Understandable

I'm sure you're kidding but he was hardly getting touches in the 4th when we started losing the lead. I sound like apalisoc but it was ridiculous how little Kawhi was getting involved down the stretch. He was doing work all game and none of the 76ers wings could check him in the post, yet for some reason we chose to let CoJo dribble for 16+ seconds every possession.

People need to recognize that the Parker/Leonard duo is unbeatable, tbh

Pretty sure Parker doesn't play without TD (the team MVP so far) and Kawhi + a limited Manu and have the 3rd unit play an extended period of time.

I was at the game, and noticed a couple of things in regards to Leonard.

1) He was getting fronted in the post and really struggled to establish position in a manner where the ball could be easily fed to him.

2) CoJo, Marco, and Danny really lack the passing skills to enter the ball to Kawhi in the post consistently. They'd look to him, but then swing the ball when the passes to get him a look weren't easy. Even the last And-1 Kawhi had was a very questionable pass that I thought was headed for a turnover, if not for Leonard's great hands and ability to go get the ball.

3) Leonard still isn't quite as good/comfortable when given a straight ISO at the top of the key. Ultimately, the Spurs have to be thinking about getting him some of the looks Manu gets now, taking his man and driving him down low. But while Leonard's handles have gotten a lot better, they still aren't at the point where he can take it all the way to the rim off the dribble the way Parker or Manu can.

4) For some reason we only swing it to Kawhi in the corner when he has an open 3. I'd like to see them swing it to him even when he might be better of pump-faking and driving. But right now, that's not what our elbow-positioned wings are looking.

I think an offense with Leonard as truly the number one option doesn't have to be too much different, but HAS to correct these issues. Kawhi establishing position better, being given the ball in a better position and more often, and having the skills to drive from the top of the key or along the baseline, would help complete his game.

I see the same things. I also think Pop doesn't call his name a lot in the past was because he is a great rebounder. Pops wants him closer to the basket.
Do you trust tony or cojo or patty or manu or beli to get a rebound if need be over kawhi? I think not.

I just don't know how people here did not believe that KL could be a 20/10 guy in this league.

In addition, it was one of those games where the Spurs thought the sixers were just going to lay down and die after the 20 point lead. Once the lead dwindled, the Spurs were like.. Damn I guess we have to play now. It wasn't whether the Spurs weren't good enough to win without the players who sat tonight, it was a matter of Spurs staying focused for 48 minutes.

Philly got within 8 once in the third quarter and once again at under 4 minutes left in the fourth. Never within more than 5. They also manned what amounts to one position (45 minutes) with Ayres / Bonner / Daye / Anderson, plus Danny and Marco couldn't find the bottom of the net. Not to mention it was a back-to-back. All in all, solid win.

He shows driving improvements this season, like yesterday, those two plays against Celtics, nice drive, very good body control... but we won't know until those plays happen more often.
I'd like to see Kawhi involved in pick and roll situations, too.

Tony was awful in the 3rd quarter, maybe he's injured again like against the Celtics but he played really bad in the 3rd quarter.
