Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.
The actors names had long been rumored for the high-profile movie, which opens Aug. 5, 2016, but their deals and characters hadn’t been finalized.

Not really, but to each their own I guess...imo the original trilogy had some pretty good dialogue scenes which along with the plot made the movies stand out from your generic action/spy movie. The professor death scene in Identity comes to mind...Bourne talking to the neski girl at the end of Supremacy too. I hated Bourne unfortunately. But damn these reviews - I am still really excited for it. From what I am reading, people seem to be upset that women get punched in the movie.

They obviously don't know that A) Joker & Harley have a terrible relationship B) They are bad guys and in the world of mafia/villains, they don't really adhere to women's rights & C) As tough as it can be to watch, in the real world, there are women who get abused. I get just having unnecessary violence for no reason against women is wrong, but this is supposed to be a very bad guy and couple in a very abusive relationship.

BvS got awful reviews and I still really liked it so I'm not too discouraged but was really hoping to have this get glowing reviews. What sucks is no one is really talking about the performances either. If the reviews were bad I was at least hoping to hear "Margot did a great job, but the script sucked" or "Leto was incredible as the Joker but the movie was too uneven to highlight him really" etc..

I will have to watch it to see how it works but yeah it definitely was so different at first blush. However, I definitely understand why they went that way. They really had to do something totally different than had ever been done on the heels of Ledger's Joker.

Tough task and I think the goal was total opposite end of the spectrum (even if it was not executed well). But Leto is a good actor so I'm hopeful.

Like I said, true comic fans with actual directing/screen writing talent as well (Kevin Smith, etc.) seem to be very happy with the result.

I definitely want to see more of the Joker. I think it was good enough to want more but not enough to have a fully developed opinion on him.

His performance is fine, but the world greatest detective, who has one rule, doesn't plot to kill superman, when a reporter figured out who Superman was early on. He spent like a year or something plotting to kill him. It was so unbatmanlike.
