The Lakers organization is retarded. They could've had their cake (letting Kirby chuck to his heart's content, which would keep ticket sales flowing and ratings decent) and ate it, too (ensuring themselves a top 5 pick).

They massively fucked up by signing Ed Davis to a one-year contract. He's young, underrated, and would likely go all out in what is now a contract year. Then they picked up Carlos Boozer off the waiver. Sure, the guy is past his prime and shit defensively, but he still has a few 20-10 games left in him and could turn a probable loss into a win (like tonight). They also should've let Swaggy walk. Yeah, I've joked about him being the Lakers best perimeter player, but he's garbage and would be totally useless on a playoff bound team (which the Lakers probably expect to be in 3 years, which is why signing Young to a 4 year contract makes no sense). Even though he's a detriment on a good team, he's one of those players who can hurt tanking efforts by going all out for his numbers, as we saw last night.

The Lin move made sense, since the Lakers got a pick out of it, but the rest of their moves have been pretty bad if their intention is truly to tank. Like I said, this is a 30-35 win roster.

No. The Pick was traded to the Suns for Trash, they own it (:lol overconfindent Mitch not protecting it for the lottery) Unless the Lakers just happen to drop into the bottom 5, then the pick would go back to LA. It currently resides in Arizona, per the trade, they're not "surrendering" it, they traded it.
