I mean what else can you do with your downtime? I work 40 hours a week and go out on weekends, and I still find myself going to spurstalk..

It's the most popular spurs site and shows up everytime you type spurs on google.

Only Manu and Boris seem to be tech friendly, they're also highly involved on twiter or IG (Boris) but I can't see Tim or Kawhi searching their names on google. :D

False.

Could he write a line of code to save his life? Probably not. That doesn't mean he's never googled himself and shit. lol

For the scrubs .... i.e. Anderson, Daye, Ayres... all looking for some kind of acknowledgement, validation or critique of their efforts... it may be likely.... however they may also be receiving that from their coaches.

SupremeGuy

Yeah, I'm sure they probably checked it out when they first found it, but then got butthurt by some of our honest opinions and decided to never comeback. :lol

They're here?!?! I want to meet Danny Green!!! Hey, Mr. Green, I am from Brooklyn across the street from Pratt and grew up fishing Long Island - Oyster Bay, Glen Cove - Once at night I was fishing the jetty at Montauk at night and knocked myself out cold with a fishing lure when I thought I had a hit. I tried to set the hook, them WHAM a huge lure clocked me in the face. When I woke up one of the treble hooks was wedged into the bone of my chin, I had to be taken by ambulance to get it removed. Now, nobody could make that up, I want to meet you and shake your hand, your perseverance has been an inspiration to me and my kids, and besides, we kind of look alike, although I'm twice your age and my eyes are green - Hey, see? Green -green It's fate, man!!! IF nothing else, just send me an email at [email protected] and I will cherish it for life! A true fan - John

Oh, P.S. I won't tell anybody, or else every doofus here will be making up 'clocked in the face with a fishing lure' stories just to get an email from Danny Green.

The NSA lurks it, for sure. Obama, the Pope, Queen Elizabeth, Kanye West who gives a fuck? It's the internet, kids. Yeah, probably most of the players who spend some time surfing the internet lurk here often. Not only the spurs players, probably people from other teams too. It's not your neighborhood, it's the world wide web.

I was told a few spurs did lurk here but after the site went to shit (about 3 years ago) they got sick of it and never come here.

A few of the Spurs front office do lurk here to see what the masses think. They are not impressed and just come for the comedic takes :lmao

I seriously doubt it. Why would they?
You'd be surprised at how frequently celebrities Google their names. People are hardwired to be social animals; they care about what other people think of them. So I would actually be very surprised if no Spur had ever Googled his name, stumbled across a thread on SpursTalk, and read what the Spurs fans here had to say about him.

Yeah, Pop was in here last season. Everytime his coaching was criticized, he gave Ayres extended minutes. "Here, let them bitch about that."

I don't understand why people think Spurs players wouldn't have better things to do than kill time on the internet occasionally.

Yes, they devote a lot of time to basketball. That's their job. A lot of us devote a lot of time to our jobs.

It doesn't mean they don't have off-hours, off-days, off-weekends, or even summers to kill some time that isn't spent at practice, the gym, or with their family/girlfriend/dimepiece. Especially since these days spend half the year in planes, busses, and on the road.

Do they care about reading what a bunch of us have to say about them? Maybe. Maybe not. Probably better if they don't.

But they definitely have the time to do it if they want, and most of them have the internet presence already these days.

Ron Artest used to frequent LG and Clutchfans IIRC..

Some others players have been known to check out forums, too, IIRC..

I don't think most players themselves actually browse NBA forums, but there are many examples of immediate family members and close friends that are monitoring the Twitter/forums chatter for them, it seems:lol..

If anyone lurks on SpursTalk, it would have to be Ayres. I can just see him looking up what people are saying about him and stumbling across Spurstalk.

Me neither. I just remember waiting like 3 months for my account to be activated.

Yes Matt Bonner was exposed by timvp a few years back in this game thread.
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189623&page=2&p=5575136#post5575136

TimMVP Why do you hate Bonner so much? Your write up on the game was fairly close to what happened. EXCEPT LA did not abuse Bonner. He scored all of 2 points while Bonner was on the court and Bonner made his one 3 pt attempt. His grade should have been INC because he only played 6 mins. If you are going to make the write up at least watch objectively on ALL the players and not hate on Bonner because you dont like how he is used. Bonner is not an inside threat and never will be, but he does he ROLE as well as any other player on the team.
mailboogie52. MB52. Matt Bonner 52. Matt Bonner wore 52 in high school :wow

Welcome to, ST :tu

Fam, friends or their agents. Monitor the interaction across social media is part of their PR agents jobs.
PR manager analyses how impact the player's personality on those online platforms, if the player increases/decreases his credibility, reputation, with focus on future consumer buying behaviours and future endorsement deals.

The Spurs media spends more time here than the players do. This is where the get the "scoops"
for their next story. Spurs talk even has it's resident Spurs insider Tlong II.

What would be funny is Spurs players trolling ST with posts about their teammates simply to mess with each other. Admittedly, it seems pretty unlikely, but then again, some of the veterans on the team do seem to have a sly sense of humor and enjoy pranks.

Well, who doesn't want to know what people say about them.

Me. I could care less. I don't think anyone who is self-confident and knows exactly who they are would care. Actors tend to care because their livelihood somewhat depends on it.
