I've never gotten a good answer to this question. It usually winds up being a bunch of bullshit about not understanding what blacks have been through and how the system was set up for them to fail and not succeed. I fully understand that people aren't just protesting because it was a cop who killed a black teenager. They are protesting because he didn't get charged. But, regardless, it's taking something that is wrong and applying sweeping claims because of it.

That's exactly it. They're cops, they're supposed to protect, but they're killing us and getting off. I was just reading about the cop who shot and killed that sleeping 7 y/o girl didn't get indicted. It's ridiculous. Not to mention all the profiling and police brutality and harassment. In inner cities it's very common to just get pulled over for no reason and get harassed for hours.


Although it is pretty ironic seeing 'Black Lives Matter' when murder rates in predominantly black cities are always high. Or when a large majority of black fathers abandon their families. Where is the outcry thenwhere there's poverty, and poor education there will be crime. A lot of black neighborhoods are unfortunately not very affluent. The reason a lot of murderers get away in big cities is because 1.) people don't want to snitch. Not because they want to "keep it real" but because they don't want to be next. 2.) cops take forever to show up. Seriously.

Single parent homes are obviously a problem in the black community. Personally my mom always told me of the importance of having a two parent home because she had one and she saw the advantage she had over her friends who didn't have a mom and dad in their home. I'm sure all my friends parents shared the same sentiment. The thing is that with all these guys growing up without a father figure in the home they never learn how to be the man they're supposed to be and end up doing their sons the same way their fathers did and never show up.

Kenny Smith's feeble response to Charles Barkley's comments was...trrrble. It was poorly written and aimless. On the other hand, Barkley was pretty damn clear when he offered his thoughts - whether you agree with him or not. BTW, what the fuck Kenny ? - Sir Charles' voice shouldn't count as much as civil rights leaders voices? Barkley is a successful black man who is entitled to speak up and share his opinion. And no, he isn't the greatest Power Forward either. Kiss ass.

Barkley's opinion holds more weight with me than Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's because he hasn't made a career out of being an ambulance chaser for perceived injustices done to black people. Those two clowns hold zero credibility and were hangers-on to a truly great civil rights leader in MLK. Whenever they open their mouths, I change the channel immediately. Its all garbage.

I'm certain black people have been wrongly profiled, harassed and mistreated by cops but the incident in Ferguson was the wrong case in which to lend their support. Michael Brown's death was tragic but it was no one's fault but his own. He was a young man with a criminal record who just committed a crime and decided to assault a police officer. I don't care who you are or what color you are, that's not going to end well.

Getting back to Smith's letter, the looting wasn't just people in "the struggle" acting out in the only way they knew how, it was a bunch of "scum bags", not unlike Sharpton & Jackson, that hijacked the protests for their own good.

There are a lot of disadvantages black people face, I'm not arguing otherwise. What I have a problem is the fact that so many black males take the easy way out and the fact that the black community treats them like victims.

I'm Mexican. You think I give a shit about cartel members? Or the Mexican-Americans that drop the hard working, family values we are known for? They chose the easy way instead of being good, honest people so fuck them. From where I'm from you got little 15-16 year olds crossing illegally to come work hard manual labor to support families back home...normally to give the father who has been doing the same for decades a break. I agree with all of that. I'm just saying the black community needs to get their shit together and put more effort into issues like this then they do into supposed racism issues. The blame can't be put on the white man for this.
