He is the Titanic. The Lakers will be fine in a few years, his reputation will never be.

"I'd go down with the ship. I'm not jumping off."

Everyone knows that Kobe wouldn't do either one. He'll be pushing women and children out of the way to get a seat on the lifeboat.

not true, but funny.
Reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld when George pushes women and kids out the way because he smells fire ... LOL

It's every thing to him. He's been working on it for 19 years.

Mehh, maybe BEFORE Colorado ...but if you listen to him talk it's obvious detractors bother him ... but he has taken the fight fire with fire approach instead of kissin' ass ...to protect it.

If Kobe were on a sinking ship, he'd be there with a bucket trying to pour water out of it. But he'd miss the ocean all but .389 % of the time.

That shows he really cares about his own reputation, no?

All that false bravado is there for a reason.

If he didn't alienate most everyone he's ever played with, he wouldn't even be thinking along these lines...

He's facing the facts now... his golden years are probably going to be pretty dreary, and it's doubtful anyone will come to the rescue because other stars don't want to play with him.

So what... any sane human do the same. I'd push over your wife and kids to save my own ass for sure.

Kobe's legacy is gonna be nuked after this season.

I hope you have your contingency deflection plan ready, which will probably revolve around something about the Spurs/Jim not being able to repeat.

It's all you'll have left :lol

If anyone in the league is the Titanic right now it's the Cavs. Bright and shiny and expensive, but with flaws that seem so glaringly obvious in hindsight. The Lakers are more like the Hindenberg. They wanted to load up on helium but no one was willing to sign a deal for their cash. So they had to gas up on $48.5 million worth of hydrogen.

i'd say he's titanic's captain. He's to blame for the ship sinking and he dies with it. Such a romantic troll tbh
