View Full Version : Lakers: Mitch: Kobe's Retiring in 2016

Could it be, tbh? Or Mitch's attempt at boosting ticket sales for this disastrous season.

"All indications are, to me, from him, that this (two-year contract) is going to be it," Kupchak said. "If somebody's thinking of buying a ticket three years from now to see Kobe play, I would not do that. Don't wait. Do it this year."

More ticket sales now. Sign Kobe again. More ticket sales later.

I don't see how he would retire, tbh.. He's still going to have gas left in the tank, and if he's anywhere near within Kareem's scoring title, he's going to continue playing imo.

Meaningless record tbh. In hindsight, Kareem should've retired after the 88 season. A center grabbing 4 rebounds is pitful tbh.

Kirby's given up on copying Dad Killer, he's copying Magic now. He's already got the homosexuality down pat, now he's going to keep retiring and unretiring for attention and the Lakers will bend over every single time.

On 38% while playing zero defense?

Damn right it is.

You're jealous and vindictive. You and your buds wanted to see him languish in injury, crawlin' around on his belly. Didn't happen. He's puttin' up 25-5-5 and that just gripes ya.

How come you do those 3 raw stats but not the raw stat of shooting percentage, Cub?

Ticket sales are in the dumpster. Mitch is trying to put fear into people by telling them they better buy tickets now rather than later. No one wants to watch a shitty product in the Lakers right now.

You're just being a retard if you think Kobe is even remotely helping the Lakers at this point. He should be a role player doing spot up duties on a contender like Paul Pierce & Ray Allen. Teams like Memphis, Portland & the Suns could use a SG like Kobe tbh.

He very damn well knows that Kirby is a volume shooter, with no regard to efficiency. Cul has been reduced from either ringing or shining shoes to stat padding goal posts.

Because it's negligible.

"You're" mad at him, been mad at him forever. Now your hatred has turned to jealousy. You wanted to see him inert, injured, compromised, driven into the earth. He double crossed you though, you & Media and it galls you. Make it a white man-or-someone Media fancies and it would be the story of the season. But, no, that won't do,,,sells more newspapers, more wampum to cast him down. You're the same shits who let Duncan get away with June of '13, with Amy, with his homosexuality. You wouldn't touch that. No fuckin' way.

I pity you.

Enjoy his 25-4 and 4 in a losing season while shooting 38% from the field!!! What an accomplishment.

He's going for #6 to end his career. Won't be with LeBron nor Duncan so he's probably OKC bound

Who wins the bet if he announces his retirement, leaves the Lakers, and comes back with a different team?

Without Kobe Media woulda buried Daddy & enjoyed the burial service. But, at the time Kobe saving him and the franchise did not fit the narrative that had been set in stone. Like Artest going there and ringing. That too did not fit Media narrative.

Tough titties.

Daddy would've been just fine without Kobe tbh. Shaq was just as dominant with Penny as his sidekick, what makes you think the results would've been any different. Daddy averaged 32/16 during that 3 peat.

He wouldn't a rung in '00. Media woulda destroyed him thereafter. Bryant saved him and provided a clear path to salvation.

Your shit looks good in hindsight, but we all know Daddy was ringing no matter what. Kobe was a role player doing role player things during that run.

Sure, now,,,it's easy to call the ball. Then? No. They were after Daddy. And they'd a gotten to Kobe to as soon as they put Daddy up wet. But, Kobe got it all straightened out in the 4th quarter up in Portland and the rest is like history.

The fact remains:::without Kobe I'm light 5 NBA Titles.

Kobe

I am with Thread on this one. Shaq was criticized for being swept out often in the playoffs prior to 00, and Kobe came in and helped Shaq daddy get over the hump as a role player.

Shaq wasn't really matched up with the best up to that point, and with Kobe performing as a slightly worse version of Austin Croshere, Shaq was able to secure his first title in lalaland.
