Do the Spurs waive Daye and attempt to sign the Russian?

STOP DOUBTING DAYE........... daye is being groomed as a bonner replacement.................. daye = future stretch 4........................dayes shot will return to form & daye will earn a rotation spot........................

I'd take him over Daye for the minimum

I like him as a player (even a washed up version) but he has personal problems. Not sure if SA wants to deal with that now.

If he makes it clear that he'd be happy in the TMac role, then sure. Otherwise, pass.

He's Russian. Not many other nationalities get along with Russians. Matter of fact, I don't know of any nationality that gets along with Russians.

With Pop being Pop and us having the CKSA ties with Messina, I think AK would consider us but to echo Robz4000 above, he's Clips bound. Maybe Cavs, they need defense.

Don't see them waiving Daye to make room anyway, they seem enamored with his potential.

Might be washed up, but I'd be on board for a 1 year deal.

I think the FO would do a Daye for AK in an instant. The problem I see is that I don't think AK wants to make what Daye makes, nor he wants to have Daye's role on the team.

Mostly that. He's unlikely to get more than the pro-rated minimum from any team. He has, however, complained about a lack of minutes in Brooklyn. I don't see him signing for a similar situation elsewhere.

He'll be the yearly Clippers veteran answer at SF that doesn't work out come playoffs forcing them to start Matt Barnes against KD

Woj:

Kirilenko, who fell out of favor with Nets coach Lionel Hollins, is attending to a family matter in the New York area that could limit his willingness to travel until sometime in early 2015, sources said.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are among the contenders with needs at small forward who'll wait to see if Kirilenko is interested in signing a free-agent deal upon clearing waivers. Kirilenko has history with Cavaliers coach David Blatt, who coached him on the Russian national team.

Daye doesn't have a role. He's a scrub who plays in garbage time.

That's actually a negative connection. AK sharply criticized Messina for resigning. No love lost there.

If shaking up the lineup, would rather have a guy like Allen than AK47 if for nothing else to keep him off LAC/OKC where he wouldn't have to create his own shot. AK47 is more well rounded today but not sure he brings any major positives.

I'm just not sure he's a difference maker any more, at least not consistently. If we could get him, great, but it isn't something I really care about. I don't think he'll have any real impact on whether or not we get far this year or not. There was a time though where AK47 would have been the absolute perfect fit for us, seems like forever ago

Is Philly really doing salary dumps for 2020 second-rounders now? It's like they're having a Black Friday sale on cap space. Could totally see dumping Ayres there if the team wanted to make a trade.

BatManu20
12-12-2014, 03:42 AM
Really surprised at how many people want AK47 on this team, tbh. This dude is washed up and is a terrible 3-point shooter, which would only hurt our spacing in the 2nd unit. He's about to turn 34 and just isn't anywhere near the same player he once was.

They rarely mention the cash involved, but I'll be there was some, used to pay off AK47s salary when they waive him. The deal just saves BKN too much money for there not to be.
