I guess the kid needs more Finals clutch moments to deserve it over someone like Belli..

Hideous decision making.

The fact that they waited till the 2:00 min mark to run plays for Kawhi is ridiculous.

Oh hey Manu, Tim was 10-16 too...

no, he's right... Manu was selfish tonight... uncharacteristic for him, but it happened...

He sucked tonight on defense, and was getting schooled by overrated Hayward.

Messina loves Belli & Manu, I'm disappointed by him, was hoping he'd be able to get over his bias for Euros

Not really lol, most of Hayward's points came off screens and long jumpers, he had Hayward completely locked down in the 1st half, 2nd half Hayward got most his pts on switches.

Also got beat a few times of the dribble when we needed stops. Hopefully he turns it on tomorrow defensively against Carmelo.

One thing that Leonard needs to know, when Pop is gone...he better find another team. Messina and Boylen don't like him.

Kawhi 16 points/7-13 5 steals 5 rebounds 5 assists but he was benched last minute...it makes no sense at all.

Leonard played good D. Hayward scored on Tim most of times when Leonard and Duncan switched and he stole a bad Manu's pass...

If/when this team ever get's healthy, he may become a fringe rotation player. He showed up to camp out of shape according to Pop, they clearly want to give Leonard more responsibility and Joseph, despite the lack of range shooting, has played well enough that I could see them going to a three and a half wing rotation whereby those two split the half depending on match-up/who's playing better at the time.

Ginobili isn't a Euro, he's a South American.

Turnovers, missed FTA's, Favors killing us in the third, and Manu playing like dogshit were really the only reason we lost.

That and Diaw being a turd whenever we play shitty competition

-10 with one minute left, Leonard wouldn't have made any difference but he could have would gained experience in clutch situations.

I prefer the team lose with Leonard's out there trying to learn how to close games, than lose with Belinelli having no idea what to do at clutch time and eating Leonard/Green minutes.

Kinda like the forum without Enrique playing.. then you can see another 'culprit' being put up

He's French, so he's not interested unless the competition is the best.

Who came in out of shape? Belinelli?

I thought he was doing some Cross Training program to get him in the best shape possible?

No guys! It is Tony's fault! Right apalisoc?....

Oh shit, he was not playing.... Then manu right???

Oohhhh and we forgot something here!!! We played again a really good team!!! Is that right apalisoc? We should have won easily no??? Or we might have lose because of the old Timmy, who got bigger numbers that....who already? .... Forgot his name....

Sadly this team right now thinks it can flip the switch ... beating the very good teams in the West but coasting the rest of the way. As they will not win all games against good teams (which will be proven in the next three weeks), the Spurs will end up in the second half of the playoff bracket, because teams like the Warriors, Grizzlies, Clippers, Blazers and Rockets right have the switch on all the time. We all know HCA is not necessary, but for a team with old key players like the Spurs HCA makes the playoffs easier ... its just that simple

btw, Leonard was awesome on defense, but could not stop Hayward down the stretch

Funny thing is the OP is right on that one but with all the daily shit he posts, people's views on Leonard get kind of biased

Manu fucked up, so much is clear. But Kawhi despite the good FG% had not the shooting night where I would give him the ball in crunch time. The plays that are run for him do not convince me yet for these kind of situations.

20% from three, 9 fewer boards and 5 more turnovers than Utah will not get it done. The game was lost in the first 47 minutes, but fucktards like the OP obsess about the final 60 seconds. I don't care if he's trolling or not, his schtick was old a long time ago.

Despite the obsessions, he had a point here.

Losses are big part of a learning process. That's why coaches of young rebuilding teams call a timeout to run a last game play losing by 2 or for 20. If a coach wants to develop players, he'll try to translate what the team worked on in practice into real games, even if they're gonna lose those games.

Like you said the game was lost very long before and it could have been a good time to try something different than usual, why not allow young players to gain valuable competitive experience in a lead role?

Messina trusts in Manu and Beli, he knows them, but that was a bad decision. Manu wasn't playing great, the best two point guards of the team were injuried, why not play the young guys?
Even Pop did it against the Pels and Leonard, Joseph, Green, got us back in the game.
The Spurs'll try to build around some FA bigman star, Tony and Kawhi...they won't sign the other guy until the summer, Tony didn't play...it made no sense to bench Leonard.

Manu is still great but 37 years old, he can't win every battle for us. And the Spurs can't afford to let him to run the offense in the clutch time all games.

It could be a good learning experience to let Kawhi and the other guys do things that they otherwise couldn't do in more crucial games.

Kawhi is out tonight. Apparently he injured his hand in that fall. That, or Pop is sitting him because Melo is out.

I remember hearing that too, but probably week to ten days ago Pop said he came into camp out of shape and that between that, his groin injury and the inevitable few games of rust upon his return, his season has basically just gotten started.

Leonard in the post game interview when asked about developing his post game and game in general:

"I need more in game experience, practicing can only do so much"...

Leonard just saying what we've been saying, he needs the reps to get better, everyone does. He was great tonight.
