every team experiences wane and waxes in the regular season, even the Spurs had a hard time earlier in Kawhi's absence. It's nothing uncommon for a new comer to have some problems here and there adapting to a new system but Rondo and the Mavs will be fine. Parsons also had quite a few shitty games earlier this season but now he's our solidest performer out there night in and night out, just give Rondo and Carlisle some more time and this trade will turn out to be a successful one tbh.

The hype is from his 2008-2010 type, especially playing in the northeast market. Those reporters thought he was the best PG in the league during that time and apparently have a hard time letting go. Rondo would have been perfect in the 90s where iso ball was dominant and perimeter shooting was not important from PGs.
