Here we will see the big difference between the SEC and the Big10, that being team speed. Those Big10 schools don't recruit the same level of athlete that ends up in the south.

Didn't see any SEC athlete use their speed to catch Elliott on that 85 yard TD run.

No they don't have SEC speed

Oregon has a great program tbh. I remember them being Pac 10 bottom feeders in the 2000's. The Beavers had their number for some reason. They took over the Pacific Conference after the USC scandal came to light though. Mark Helfrich will be gone this offseason.

Pelicans78

I would agree.
The bowls games have not really changed my rankings. I just knew it was possible the SEC did not necessarily have the 4 best teams even though they had the best conference. This apparently escaped some peep's ability to comprehend. Not sure why.

They didn't even have the best team this season. Oregon has clearly been the best team in the country.

I recall them being at least competitive for quite a while, though not at this level. Rich Brooks made them respectable in the '90s. Apparently their facilities are unbelievable- that Nike money. The collapse of Washington's program in the early 2000's helped them too.

The Huskies haven't beaten the Ducks since 2002. Even the Cougars (Wash St) had a great program in the early 2000's with Mike Price. But yeah Nike's money (over $300) has paid dividends to UO.

meant to say mid 2000's. It was all about USC those days. Stanford was their only hurdle.

I know that. And again read, they may not even have one in the top four. I don't care about the system, this is all opinion anyway.

TCU has the best team in the country simply because there offense is top notch, and their defense is clearly the best in the country at present.

Well we totally disagree then.

TCU would murder them because they can play D.
And TCU has at this time the best D in the country.

TCU would stand no chance vs Oregon and it should be real obvious. Their advantage is speed, something Oregon has more of. It would be over by halftime.

No way, no how.

TCU can play D, Oregon cannot.

Very simple.
This should be super obvious for those who have actually watched the most recent games.
Not so clear for those who memorize lists but can't tell a football player from a track athlete.

TCU's defense isn't that great. Not even sure if its better than Oregon's who slowed down plenty of potent offenses in the Pac-12.

The champion of the best conference in the land that whipped up on Michigan State vs a team that lost to Baylor who beat TCU but lost to Michigan St.

TCU would get trounced. The Big12 is weak as we saw.

Dude, been watching TCU since the Kenneth Davis days, ok?

All defenses will have a game in which the D has a bad game or even bad game plan.
I watched TCU/Baylor, and Oregon/Cal. Tell me how you evaluate those defensive breakdowns to what you see now.

Then one watches the progression to the Bowls. Oregon is given way too much credit beating an FSU team that clearly QUIT. TCU has the best linebacker in the country, a secondary that breaks quicker than any on the ball, and a defensive line that is very good at staying in lanes while still penetrating. Gary Patterson ( the best defensive coach in the country) has taken very quick kids and molded the best D in the country at this time.
