We've lost to three 3 lottery teams in one week.

Discuss.

Don't care about drawing conclusions from some meaningless regular season game in December. Just really embarrassed that we lost to the worst Lakers team of all-time at home. Pretty fucking sad tbh.

edit: also, I'm really fucking tired of these stepback Manu 3s at the buzzer beater...such a horrible play. I'm fine with Manu taking the last shot, but I'd really prefer it to be off a PnR where he at least tries getting into the paint. Like that shot he had in Game 3 against Dallas - I'd rather attempt something like that then the typical stepback contested jumper that has a <20% chance of going in.

In all seriousness, this shit is on Pop. Sat Leonard when he shouldn't of, respected Kirby far too much, didn't bother to coach the team, and his decision making in OT was awful. This is three games in seven that he's been at least partly responsible for a loss.

Meaningless game in the long run, but losing to these Lakers is fucking pathetic and embarrassing, tbh..

Absolutely terribly coached game from Pop, and the bench unit's defense was disgusting..getting torched by below average players like Lin and Swaggy P:lol..

Pop benching Diaw in favor of Bonner down the stretch, just because of that failed inbounds play = :lmao..

Only hurts because the other top teams don't blow these games. We have to make up these losses head to head.

Or it could be CIA Pop trying to sabatogue the Lakers top 5 pick protection. Philly, Knicks and Pistons are worse.

This was the easiest stretch of the season and the Spurs didn't take care of business. I really don't wanna see what their record is come the middle of January.

Only watched the overtime but its concerning that Duncan played so much. Talk about the system all you want but when a 38 year old has been your best player for the past 3 years it's bad to run him down even more in the regular season.

Throwing away games against lesser teams, while getting up for and beating better teams, shows the team is capable but bored. It reminds me of the Kobe/Pau/Odom Lakers who would thrash contenders and give games away to the dregs of the NBA. Injuries don't help.

We may need to start the playoffs on the road though, the way the West is going.

Nick Young is a terrible player:lol..he's shooting 39% from the field, this season..

What happened tonight is that he was being guarded by one of the worst defensive players in the history of the NBA(Belinelli) and made something like 4 3-pointers IIRC, and then he was hot for the rest of the game..

Huh?

6-16 for 18 points and 4TOs while doing his best game 6 impression doesn't really classify as a "great game."

I wish we could just freeze dry the fucker until the playoffs. When's the last time he's buried two clutch FTs? 2009?

Bobo did miss Manu on the backdoor cut for the winner, but benching him in favor of Bonner for that is laughable..

Playing Bonner in crunch time is essentially waving the white flag. He's a horrible defender, horrible rebounder, and average shooter at best a this point in his career (as shown by his shooting %).

Spurs just half assed it and had a few chances to win it and Manu could have won the game if he made both his ft's. So it's the worst loss of the year for the Spurs and the best win of the year for the lotto balls bound rebuilding Lakers.

I never called him the best shooter in the world, but he can shoot the daylights out of the ball. Obviously he has a poor shooting percentage bc he 1. takes too many shots and 2. doesn't take good shots. If he was on the Spurs he'd have good percentages.

I think Pop wanted to win this game, bad coaching decisions and all. Not letting him play a couple of minutes in the end when we needed to generate some scoring was another bad coaching decision. Parker would have came through with one of those 3 point attempts with the way he's been shooting from long range, IMO.

On the bright side, a boost of confidence for Corey. I hope he can maintain his improvement this year, a "backup PG controversy" (if you can even call it that with Patty) would definitely be a good thing for the Spurs.

Wow, watching some of the highlights it's obvious the Spurs played half ass the entire game. Obviously missing Leonard hurt but the Lakers just waltzed in and j*zzed all over the Spurs in OT. Spurs should have won the game by 10 points even without Leonard. They have to play harder, better and smarter that's what won them the championship in 2014. Manu could have iced the game if he had converted the 2 free throws, worse Spurs loss of season as they should have won this sh*t without going to OT.

EVAY
12-13-2014, 08:24 AM
We lost this game on the defensive end and with turnovers.

It looked to me like Tony left after getting up gimpy-looking after his last turnover. I think he probably shouldn't have played, and I would prefer that he NOT play than play hurt, since he becomes so ineffectual in that.

Manu was in the classic "manu giveth and many taketh away" mode last night. Trying hard, but very inconsistent execution. A couple of truly boneheaded fouls at particularly hurtful times. He made some big shots...he missed some big shots. Classically Manu.

The exact opposite of what I wanted to happen last night. I didn't care if Kobe got his record or not last night, but I wanted us to win the game. As others have mentioned, our team was so determined to deny the record to Kobe, they let their scrubs have career nights at the three point line. Ugh!! STUPID!!

Why the fuck did Splitter only play 15 minutes? Hill and Boozer went off in the paint.

Splitter is coming off injury. Expecting him to log big minutes would be unreasonable, given the history of this coach and franchise. It is what it is. They said to themselves before the game: "Splitter will play x minutes." That's the end of the story. They start scheduling rest days for Tim as soon as the NBA publishes the schedule. The dedication to resting Splitter and bringing him back slowly is admirable. The natural temptation is to play him. It takes great fortitude to forego immediate gratification. Splitter was needed.
