Trevor Ariza at 8mil doing pretty good for the Rockets and Darren Collision at 5 mil doing pretty good for the Kings,,,for starters. Both would be major upgrades for the Lakers,,,

Exactly. He's not very good at passing since he doesn't do it very often for starters. Obviously a college career would have at least made him decent. The Spurs played right into his hands double and triple teaming him.
