Watching Kwahi on offense is really painful. He has to improve his post up, iso, fadeaway jumper & pretty much every facet on offense.
He's actually one of the most efficient post up players in the league statistically

Right as I tune in after MNF... momentum entirely to Portland
Just be glad the Swaggy P shirt the other night was nothing but net. Phoenix just lost a painful one on an even more improbable shot.

OK, maybe I'll say they had a good chance, not great, but good. The were tied in the first half a few times and had opportunities to take a lead but they just couldn't get the offense together and turnovers down. Portland gave them a chance, Spurs didn't take it.

This resting shit is going to cost us healthy players, then you're going to have all the young guys injured and have to ride the old guys into the ground.

What happened to Kawhi tbh? I walked away from the game at that point
look like a slap in his hand... he kept shaking it, made a floater with it, kept holding it, and eventually went to the locker room with sevening...

they were last game too... the Spurs need to get healthy and hopefully Kawhi is ok... I can't think he broke anything, since he even made a shot with that hand...
If Leonard is healthy we'll see, but unfortunately it really seems like he broke it; the fact he immediately went to the locker room rather than wait til the end is discouraging.

Good game ... I do not regret getting up early for that one. If Kawhi injured his hand badly, this would suck as it was in the last minute of the game.
Props to Kyle Andersen ... hopefully Pop has seen enough to never play Daye over him again.

They're gonna be far more motivated to win it than the Spurs.
Splitter will play this time. The only unknown is Leonard and his absence will kill us on the perimeter. The Spurs just lost. I don't think they will take losing again so lightly.

Better to happen now than in March, I guess. Still sucks ass though. Parker needs to sack up and Splitter really needs to stay on the floor during this upcoming stretch

Lets be optimistic that he did not broke it ...

As it was last year and the season before. The Spurs can never get fully healthy in the regular season. Just have to hope we can have all guys for the postseason like how it played out the last two years.

then we can shut it down overall i.e. just play the rest of the group enough to be the 7th seed because right now without a fully healthy team more is not possible ...

Nah... with TD/Manu/Tiago/Boris/Danny/TP we can beat most teams... I mean, I value what Kawhi brings every night, but we still have a pretty solid team if those guys can play...

I just think without Kawhi for a few weeks and the Big Three sitting out more games it will be tough to get into the upper half of the playoff ranks ...
Still hoping for everybody getting healthy and the typical 18 game winning streak at one time or another!

I don't think so. There's 5 teams with a 70+% winning percentage right now (if the Clips win their current game, which looks like they will), including the Warriors at 91%, which is ridiculous. Teams will go through up and downs, injuries, tough schedules, their own back to backs, getting tired, etc... they'll drop games. Maybe a team or two will keep the pace, but other than that, there will be chances to be a top 3-5 seed...
The thing is, the Spurs are facing their own tough schedule right now, and they need to get healthy. Hopefully by the time Patty comes back mid-January, we can have the whole team available and we can start trying to build on that.

All those people that said OKC probably won't make the playoffs, where are they now? Right now the Spurs are closer to the 8th seed than the 1st or 2nd seed. They way they have thrown away winnable games, coupled now with these injuries, if they don't get their shit together OKC could conceivably have home court in a series against us.

To be fair, I didn't think they'd rush Westchimp and Durant back so quick. I still expect them to be gassed come April.

There is no way the thunder finish above the spurs the standings..The spurs are still on pace to win 52+ games and for the thunder to do that, they have to win at 70% rate...Not going to happen.
The only thing that matters is home court over the thunder and I am positive they will get that.

If Kawhi didn't get seriously hurt and if there isn't further risk of worsening the injury then he'll just need to tough it out for the rest of the month. After that they can rest him (if needed) but it'll be very tough for the Spurs to win during this stretch without him. Even with a injured hand, Kawhi is better than the alternative.

well, it really did not look good, but you play basketball with your hands and when you have a bruised hand or a jammed finger it will take months to fully heal because you always get slapped on or you do not catch the ball correctly, etc.

The only issue with Kawhi and his hand is that the past 2 games he has struggled to make a shot in the 1st quarter. We'll see if that's a pattern or not.
