Once Mills comes back, Joseph and Baynes should be traded while other teams still think they're good imo

He had a nice hook shot or two. Just needs to rebound better

Wasn't that bad considering he's the 4th big being forced to play starter minutes. Compare his production with Ayres:

+1 - Baynes with a 15 pts/9 rebs statline
-14 - Ayres with a 4 pts/1 reb statline

Daye and Ayres need to be moved. Neither has a place on this team. One's a low IQ monkeyballer that can't even finish dunks or layups. The other's a shooter that can't shoot.

He's familiar with Portland, so I kind of expected him to not have a horrible game.

And play defense/boxout/catch passes/make rotations/commit fouls instead of allowing easy baskets

Stats lie in this case. He really didn't have as good of a game as those stats indicate.

Aldridge is good. But watching Baynes guarding him tonight was just cringe-worthy. Plus for an athletic big, the guy cannot rebound to save his life

Dude is currently on a 15/11 per this year and his per 100 is even better at 21/15 for 2 mil and people are complaining

I thought he played well. Aldridge is a great player, expecting Baynes to shut him down is a bit much. 15 and 9 for a 4th big against a very good team is pretty impressive.

Baynes would have to agree to be traded because of his contract. Cojo will be a RFA so I'm not sure how much value both would have. With Parker and Splitter in and out of the lineup maybe having both is better than moving one of them.

The only 2 players we need to trade are Daye and Ayers..

didnt catch the game today... had an exam and knocked out from 6pm to midnight :lol

but i guess Baynes must have had some awful gaffes. his box score numbers look like he played a solid game

He played a good game with the occasional blunders. It's funny how people always expect big guys to play perfect. Ayres, Baynes, Splitter... At this point you should just realise that they all mess up from time to time, except the truly elite ones.

(that being said I agree that Ayres is not good at all)

+ / - are a bit tricky always... KA is at -15 on this game but played solid... I did not check but I guess Matty is +10.

for the rest we all agree Ayres sucks

he made 2 FG's against Baynes and virtually everything else on Diaw...

I'm commenting on his defense but his inability to rebound the ball

he had 9 boards tho

:lol ok...

Portland had 11 offensive rebounds on the game...

Aldridge was their leader with 5. Baynes was on the floor for only one of those :lol

Chris Kaman had 1, Baynes wasn't in the game

Joel Freeland had 1, Baynes wasn't in the game

Meyers Leonard had 1, Baynes wasn't in the game

Lillard had 3 offensive rebounds, Baynes was in the game for 2

one of them is at 2:15... not much Baynes is supposed to do. i couldn't find footage of the other one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pElFlS-RS6Y

so all your bullshit aside, the Blazers got 3 offensive rebounds in the 32 minutes Baynes was on the floor

he had a few blunders that went out of bounds or was saved by a teamate..

I have no idea if you actually watched the game though since a few posters in this thread alone commented on his rebounding and many others in the game thread.

weird..

i said i didn't watch the game.

but you're just making shit up.

- started with "his defense against LMA sucked"... then i showed how LMA did a very small portion of his damage against Baynes.
- then you went to "his rebounding sucked" ... i said he had 9
- then you said he gave up 9 offensive boards... i showed you that is full of shit

what's next :hungry:

- It's as obvious as the sun that the 9 rebound comment is to make a point. :lol

- Part of defense is boxing out and grabbing the defensive boards which he was awful at doing.

- Clearly the picture is referring to his ability rebounding the ball and catching passes..he failed a couple times in the fourth to catch a beautiful pass from kawhi.

:lol

thats fine, those are fair criticisms. though i dont think 9 boards in 32 minutes is a horrible number. portland did have a bunch of "team rebounds" and i'll take your word that a few of those were on baynes

btw you never told me where you got your post up #'s for Duncan... i want to check out what other stats are on that site

Baynes is fine, he's a 4th big, of course he's going to be flawed, tbh..

I don't think there are many 4th bigs that are better than him, tbh..

Gonna have to agree with my nig spurraider, Baynes was fine last night; both from a boxscore and eye-test perspective.

For a 4th big he is pretty good, but last night he had to play the role of the 2nd big and IMO the numbers lied.

He missed key rebounds that would have been huge for the team and gave Portland second chance opportunities that they buried us with. He also had a fumble on a pass late in the game.

I don't know why he's so poor at grabbing rebounds. He just doesn't seem to be able to grab the ball and instead seems to tip it away.

Baynes just was a little unlucky against Portland, but so far he gave us good minutes this season. Nice stroke from the FT line too ...
