View Full Version : We need Amare Stoudemire

SilverSpur

We need to trade for Amare. We need a big man that can play against players Gasol/Randolph. He is on the final year of his contract. He's URFA next year and is on a very bad team.
I think he would welcome a trade to a winning team with a shot at a title.
We could trade are late first rounder and the rights to one of are players overseas (Thomas, Richards)
Granted we had the game against Memphis in the bag several times. If Duncan makes his free throws, Diaw doesnt makes two bad passes in each overtime.
What do you think?

:lol that was Memphis's first win against the Spurs in 11 games, and their first win @ San Antonio since the 2011 playoffs..it took them a miraculous no-call to beat the Spurs without Kawhi/TP/Patty..

Randolph has been atrocious against the Spurs since Splitter became a key rotation piece, too..

But the Spurs need to make a trade to match Memphis?:lol..

Good thought op. Yes we need Amare at PF, Dwight Howard at C, and then a really good cardiologist for Pop.

OP's understanding of the salary cap is on par with most GNSF despite not having that designation. Where on earth are the Spurs going to cobble up the salaries to make that trade work?

In theory, only way it could work is if the Knicks worked out a buyout and he signed for whatever the Spurs have left under the MLE. That is the one saving grace - Spurs can offer buyout guys more than anyone else, should any be more attractive than Ayres/Bonner/Baynes. I just don't see Holt eating salary.

"Spurs are the only contenders this year." They don't need to make a trade to compete with themselves.

I wouldn't trade Ayres for Stoudemire. The only Spurs player in recent history I'd trade for that faggot is Jefferson.

LOL. One of the worst defending bigs of ALL-TIME and OP thinks we need him. He makes Bonner's D look like Bill Russell's.

I'm pretty sure the OP hasn't seem Amare play in about 5 years. Dude is done. And he has still never heard of this concept called "defense."

Malik Hairston

Amare's actually having a really solid season and looks rejuvenated, offensively, tbh..

He would be a nice 3rd/4th big off the bench for a team that needs an offensive scoring big man..wouldn't fit with the Spurs, though, for obvious reasons..

Nope. Still pretty sure he hasn't made a timely rotation this year. Besides, putting up big offensive numbers on a woeful losing team has never been an indicator of quality. Don't be fooled.

If he can had for the vet minimum for the rest of the season I would take a look. 10 mins a game would be a maximum for him to play.

He came onto the court during the hip check. That helped SA to the ring.

If the Spurs brought him aboard, I think a lot of you would be surprised how well he'd fit in. Spurs move the ball and he did well on a team that could get him the ball at the right time. He could be just a "injured DNP" on someone's roster all year, but you never know. Regardless, he doesn't want to be in SA.

I see that Larry Sanders may be available soon after the Bucks buy him out. I know he has his personal demons, but the guy is very good defensive big. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him with a low risk contract. I think he would tow the line with this team and for Pop. If he causes any waves, we just kick his ass to the curb. I think the reward would definitely be worth the risk.

This ^^^ on another note so many free agents give the Spurs way lip service but when it comes time to choose a destination they prefer to put high profile visability and stats over sacrificing for titles. The Spurs do better with low ego happy to be in the league type FA's like Verde. We never seem to get the stars because they have too much ego invested in themselves. Take Amare who just robbed the Knicks blind you would think managed minutes and championship opportunity would outweigh the Cuban circus but it doesn't. As for Sanders a shot blocking big would be great for the Spurs to fend off penetrating pgs.
