First off, let me say I hope Rondo does well in Dallas. He helped bring a championship to Boston, but it was obvious he just couldn't be "the man" by himself. Ainge got what he could for him, and I hope Rondo helps out the Mavs.
That said, Rondo missed some bunnies today, got smoked a few times by Bellinelli, and it's just weird to see him play with Ellis bringing the ball down. They sag off him and it's just awkward. Obviously Rondo needs a little more time with the system as he wasn't moving very fluidly, but it's still a weird fit.
Rondo had some nice passes and he pushed the pace well as he can do, but he doesn't seem to be a comfortable fit. I didn't watch much Mavs before the trade, so Dallas fan, what's your initial impression?

As everybody knows, I'm one of the biggest Rondo haters here, but you can't judge somebody after 1 game:lol..it's going to take them at least a month to build chemistry IMO..
Rondo is one of the most unique players in NBA history, too, it's going to take a long time to figure out how to properly utilize him..
I'd put him in the 2nd unit, though, could be great for their shitty bench..

Well I was worried with how he would fit with Ellis, but Monta scored 38 so he looked fine. With some time,I hope Carlisle will be able to fit him into the offense. As I said before, its a risk that he could be an awful fit, buts its a risk we needed to take as we weren't going to win the championship with our old roster.

Eh, I don't fear Rondo on this team at all.
My fear of the Mavs has more to do with Dirk, their championship mettle, and coaching then it has to do with the addition of an assist whore who can't shoot.
I thought he did fine. The dude that looks awkward is Parsons, it's like he doesn't know how to take shots within the flow of their offense. I was glad every time he got the ball.

Exactly. Rondo was a non issue this game; wasn't even that impressive tbh. _allas doesn't really need a true PG since Ellis has the ball 80% of the time.

& he'll get that month, everywhere but here. And he ain't gonna hear "us."
Now, say, for instance he went to the Lakers instead of the Mavs. That month? Ha.
