I love Christmas Story....I love it.
But Christmas Vacation has some parts in it that are classics.

The Home Alone series is a great one. I always enjoyed those Tim Allen 'Santa Clause' films as well.

Mr. Bean's Christmas Special never grows old, the highlight being his interaction with Harrod's manger display. It's at turns, highly emotional, terribly heroic and sheer comedic genius.

A Christmas Story is among the greatest movies of all time, not just Christmas movies. Perfectly written, shot, acted... they even managed to find a bunch of child actors that didn't totally suck.

I'm 23 now and just recently realized just how bad child actors are. Most of them literally just say their lines with no emotion whatsoever. Don't know how I missed this when I was growing up watching all those Harry Potter films.

Home Alone 1 and 2 for sure..I can remember looking up to Kevin those movies are so fucking old.
Bad Santa and Christmas Story too, though I have a hard time sitting through the entire movie for Christmas Story.

I always dug Christmas Story for its pitch perfect atmosphere. Bob Clark also did Black Christmas earlier, which is very creepy and atmospheric as well. I never saw the remake, but Olivia Hussey from that era....:jack....

Jingle all the way, tbh.
This one is pretty good, tbh..the Christmas movies of the 80's, 90's and early 00's are the best, for obvious reasons..I might just catch a the ole Grinch flick tonight..

^There is a type sequel to this film. It stars Charles Grodin as the old man, Mary Steenburgen as the mother & I believe Culkin's brother as the boy. It takes place in the summertime and it has some choice scenes. Unfortunately one of the main plots is a hillybilly family living next door. This goes nowhere, but, if you can put up with it there are some swell scenes. Spinning tops is a popular activities among the boys and the scene where the old man guides his son at the World Exposition taking place in the city is outstanding. Also there is a scene in the very beginning at the corner grocery dealing with red & black jaw breakers. It's a gd blast and has one of the kids from "Sleepers" is in it. This film has a more serious tone to it with a couple scenes in particular. The ending is really fine and deals with the majesty of youth and of family.
I like this film though I'll be damned if I can recall the title.

That movie has 2 titles, I don't know why: It Runs In The Family and My Summer Story

Yep, I saw it under "It Runs In The Family." It had one part that I vaguely remember from my childhood, where the "tax man" would come around and keep track of your assets. In this movie it's hilarious as they try to hide all their stuff as he's making his way down the block.
