Chomag

Injuries aside Spurs should have still been able to beat this team.

They just lack any heart for the game. That worries me more then the injuries do.

Hit 2 corner threes at the end of a game that was already over. Fuck...those plays should've been run the entire game.

Amazing what happens when 40 year old players are pushed to the limit bc a certain 32 yr old PG is babying a day to day injury.

I'm a stay off this forum for a few days if Spurs lose this one. This place will implode with the tears of fans who've had it too good too long :lol

But but but we might not win 50 games this year :cry

What about the streak :cry

Get into the Golden State/Memphis Pod and the Spurs are golden. Still a lot of hoops left to be played WITH Patty and Kawhi.

Parker has been shitty any time he's stepped on the court though. 2013 Tony ain't coming back. At best, you'll see 2014 Parker who wasn't all that great anyway.

His explosiveness hasn't been there but I like what I've seen from his outside shot these last two games. Hopefully he will turn it on when he needs too when it comes to making some noise in the paint when it matters.

Insert "he" and it makes sense. Your question was stupid and way off point. Why the fuck would anyone call him a pfs? He can play when pgs are out and plays good enough. When the sf is out we don't have someone that plays good enough. That's the difference.

You said call him whatever I want, so I'm calling him a PF.

12-26-2014, 10:16 PM
I thought we played well, we just don't have enough right now... Unfortunately, the slow pace on offense really prevent us from scoring easy baskets, and we can't put enough points on the board. I also didn't like Pop running with a lineup that didn't include TD or Manu. That's when the game got away from us.

Onto the next one.

Maybe the problem here is not the team's execution but Pop's game plan?
Just asking.

'mild hamstring strain'

Not even joking it is a day to day type injury. Derrick Rose who is known for being soft with injuries had the exact same thing and was appropriately listed as day to day. Enrique is going on like 3 weeks of milking it.

His court vision sucks, his defense is among the worst in the league for his position. The only thing he's doing well is shooting threes. He's overpaid and declining. And still plans on playing international ball this summer.

Pointless to risk further injury to any of our players in the regular season. Going into to the playoffs is what's important.

Spurs are playing kinda slow. If you watch last years games, everybody was moving, the ball was being pushed and swung around and whoever had the ball was a threat to do something. Recently, there's been very little meaningful motion. Takes the Spurs 7 seconds to get the ball up the court, then they pass it from the wing to the top to the other wing with some little screen that barely moves the defense for the next 10 seconds. And if they shoot before that it's usually a mediocre mid-range shot coming off a down screen, and it's usually somehow still contested.

Defense wasn't great this game but I attribute that more to Kawhi not playing and Tiago barely playing.

BillMc
12-26-2014, 10:28 PM
We've got kind of a "2007 Heat" vibe to us, but we'll be Ok. Just somehow get the playoffs healthy with enough head of steam to get things clicking.

Yes, pace is a huge problem for the offense right now. But there's a few reasons for that, we're doing a shit job of rebounding, and the defense has been subpar without Kawhi and a lot of Bonner/Beli minutes.

And like Sean Elliott was saying, the Spurs have played a lot of games recently and it's clearly taking a toll on them. A lot of the players play of the summer + 2 finals runs and 3 straight western conference championship appearances will weigh on them.

I agree about Kawhi being out affecting the rebounding and pace. No Kawhi = less clean longer rebounds (the ones that have been eluding Duncan recently), so the Spurs rarely have a chance to even run it up the court.

BillMc
12-26-2014, 10:41 PM
Spurs look tired. A lot of heavy lifting last two weeks. We've basically had 3 guys almost always out the whole season. (Tiago, Beli, Mills at the beginning, Kawhi, Parker, Mills now.) Throw in that on back to backs Tiago plays very little, and Timmy looks tired despite some stellar perfomances (minus the OKC game). Pop, as perhaps he should, is still being conservative but it's placing a lot on old guys like Timmy and Manu. All minutes are not equal and the eye test says their straining. They gave it the good show last week but the losses and the 6 OTs took a lot out of them.

Despite all the gloom and doom, we'll be okay. But it may not be until late January or even February before we look like the old Spurs.

Patty likes to push the ball too, he has the speed also... Cojo is more of a half court guy...

Gotta get healthy

I would say players being out with injury have a little something to do with that there... Maybe just a little. Make any team out there miss their stars or a few very good players every single game in the year and see how good they look.
