View Full Version : Amateur: Why is Kirby choosing to return against the smallest backcourt in the league?

And in addition to being undersized, they're mediocre defensively.

Warriors: Curry and Klay

"I should rest, Byron. Feeling sore."

Bulls: Rose and Butler

"Yeah, I had 5 days off, but I think I need another game off to get right."

Mavs: Rondo and Ellis

"Still feeling a little creaky. I think I'll take the night off."

Suns: Dragic and Bledsoe

"PUT ME IN, BYRON!" (note: Kobe is averaging 35ppg against the Suns this year on 40% shooting)

:lol If Kobe shoots under 40% tonight.

Act like somebody tonight, Cub.

Suns are getting too big for their britches, waltzing into that 8th seed like they're somebody now. A big shot. Put them in their place tonight.

Suns are gonna be stacked with that Laker lottery pick next year,,,,just look at all the youth on that team and they are fighting in a very tough Western Conference already.

Splits should I bask in the stale champagne of prior titles when the last one was over 4 years ago?
Or should i face the reality that we need to rebuild? Should I be more concerned about Kobe's legacy or the stink of missing another playoffs as a franchise or be focused on our future? those 16 titles weren't all trades and free agents. James worthy was a top pick as was Magic. They drafted Fisher. I want assets. I admit it's tough to be hanging with the cellar dwellers two years runnin' but I am a realist.

So you think your franchise can go from raping and pillaging and buying the league to building from the ground up when the last pick you can point to is DFish? Is this some kind of joke? With Byron "stuck in the 80s" Scott at the helm? The Kings will make the playoffs before your shit franchise. And I'll love every minute of the next 5 years while you try to keep your picks and the ones you do hang onto flame out with broken legs.

You've misread us. We didn't even belong in 13, getting to the finals was gravy. '12 is what still burns, winning 20 straight and getting backdoored was the worst, much more scarring than seeing hairline repeat. Thankfully, we have no outstanding beefs. Every playoff ouster has been redeemed in the Duncan era. Lakers, Grizz, TRefs, dismantling of the Heat, etc. Tim may have had his heart broken, but he avenged every last opponent. And I can't think of another who can stake that claim.

Enjoy. Not sure what will happen but I actually look forward to seeing us try and build. Will Scott last to see it through ... who knows? I aint married to Scott or Kobe for that matter. Lakers are bigger than both. I just want another pick to pair with Randle. We will still be irrlevant but I at least can watch two young players develop. I dont mind that we went all in despite giving up too much for Nash we gambled and we lost. Now we pay the price with a sucky team. Question, splitts real talk. Post Pop/duncan if you were in the hell we are currently in wouldnt 5 be worth 8 losing seasons? Lakers went over 12 years between titles (1988-200) but the 5 before made it perfectly bearable.

Splits

Real talk? I don't expect to be in that situation. You link Pop to Tim but that's wrong, he just reupped for 5 years, he'll see Tony to retirement and as long as he's around we'l be relevant, continuing to show the league how to innovate, recruit, draft, trade, and rebuild without tanking. And he'll leave the franchise in good hands. He's responsible, cares about his people and the organization, and will make it a priority that we don't have to go through the doldrums you're dealing with.

Thanks, Splitts i guess. But not looking for sympathy or expecting to find any. and I hope you are right SA real talk is a great city just a lot of your fans suffer from penis envy, believe in NBA conspiracies (which doesnt make any sense it's a conspiracy when you lose bit not when you win?) and threw so much hate when I was there. I talked so much shit because I got so much when I was at HEB, the mall it didnt matter. and I dint mind but drunken Spur fans would cross the line occasionally. But overall I wish teh city well I enjoyed my time there ... but because of the hate ...I root for your downfall just as you do mine. I avtually thought about adopting the spurs as a local team ... but the hate was too strong.
and it was funny before I moved there I would have never guessed yall hated us soo much. Never considered Spurs a rival before I lived there.

But keep in mind we had West and Mitch, Phil and Buss SR TWC money and a great fan-base and it STILL happened. I get that most of what I mentioned is gone. but we had a 12 year drought with one of the best owners and a GOAT GM passing the torch to Mitch. Stillwent 12 years without a "sniff" even after signing shaq. Drafting Eddie Jones stealing Nick Van Exel trading for Horry and Kobe.

Sounds like a wash. Add to that the fact that you're reaching waaaaaaaaay beyond anything remotely close to a legitimate point and your entire schtick is revealed to be a fugazi. Tim would have been happy to just trod along until retirement, making the playoffs and petering out near the end. His personal situation lit a fire beneath him and that's why he lost weight, began training for real, began to play ball like he was 10 years younger. Had Tim won last year, he doesn't ring in 2014. There's empirical evidence to show that the Spurs throttle back the following season after a ring. That close loss really changed the dynamic in SA, led them to stomp the living shit out of Lebron and send him back to his daddy Gilbert. You should be thankful, Lebron and Co were not good for the NBA, set a bad precedence making 4 consecutive Finals. Had they 3peated the mold is cast and there would not be real competition for decades.

It ain't a wash. You should have 6. Get 6, you should have 7. Get 7, you should have 8. You'll always be short 1 because of Amy.

Tim had 5 in the case and fucked it up because Amy had upset his apple cart. I'm sure she planned it to catch him at his most vulnerable and her plan succeeded. I said at the time (again it's in the records) it was a dirty double cross on her part and one that only an animal would execute. But, execute it she did. And you and your fandom have to suffer it. That's part of being a fan. Taking the good with the bad, blending the two into a stew that courses thru your blood stream, thru your heart forever more. 6 is as much a part of you as the 5 are. You can't run from it, nor, slam me into submission. It's you, and that is one person you can't get away from.

Don't you understand, D, it doesn't matter if it's good OR it's bad, it happened, 6 happened, Amy happened. And nothing will change that. Just like nothing will change the 5.
