And don't give me the Pat Riley talk either, RC just won a championship and turned around and made a very good team even deeper.
The Heat can have Fat Man Walker and White Chocolate, I'll take Oberto, Finley, and Nick the Quick and call it a freakin' off-season.

The fact that he hasn't won yet is ridiculous!! RC is head and shoulders above the rest of the league. The only award we might not win this year is MVP and that's only because we have such a deep team.

Not to steal RC's thunder, but didn't Pop do most (all) the negotiating with both Finley and NVE?
I wish that Pop could get a little bit of that Exec of the Year award.

Good point Kori, but the fact remains RC is one of the hardest working front office types in the league, and never gets any recognition.
They just got Oberto, NVE, and Finley for a combined 6.8 million. That's sick.

Hey! If we're calling names for the other team call our guys by their "cool" names: Fabri,Fin and sure Nick the Quick.

So Spurs mngmt. is kicking butt this off-season... but it seems like most of the other teams in the West are getting weaker......
I don;t want to Jinx us, but I think a 60+ win season is very possible! :D

Piston fan here, and on paper before the season starts, RC has my vote. What he's done has been tremendous. Sure, it helped that Nick and Finley came to SA on the cheap, and it helped having TD, Manu and 3 championships in the last decade. But, as a GM, you still got to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Of course, the team still has to translate these great moves to a great season. Even if the Spurs do well, but they don't have the BEST RECORD in the WC, then RC might not get GM of the year. That's how these moves have upped the expectations for this already great team. Spurs must have the best record, because their roster dictates it.
I think they will, and I think RC will have a great chance at GM of the year. But, just like my team, awards are nice, all star bids are nice, but I'm sure the Spurs and you fans would rather have the TROPHY at the end of the year. You know what I'm saying?
You guys have a lot to be excited about. I'm excited for the Spurs myself, and I'm not even a fan ... well, I'm a basketball fan, so that's why.

They should have co-GM of the Year awards. Pop and RC both deserve one for this offseason.

I cant believe i am about to say this but i agree with the pistons fan. When it comes down to it its all about the gold, and if u asked RC what hed rather have i bet he would agree.

:tu JamStone, nice post.
I agree with Kori as well - to an outside observer, it would seem that Pop did all the heavy lifting this offseason. I'd venture to say this is the best Spurs offseason ever in terms of improving a team without the benefit of a lottery pick.
